Hey, basically I will participate in my first Tournament ever 17 Jan. Well I play Pokemon TCG for about 3 Weeks now so I am absolutely not experienced in how the past Decks looked like. I realized today that the Tournament will be in the Expanded Format and so far I grinded 2k+ Points in Standard. I really need some advice for the Expanded Format since i have absolutely no clue which cards would really excell in my Current Deck. I play a NightMarch Deck. In Standard I used to play NightMarch/Vespiqueen, this is my Standard Decklist:

Pokémon - 23
  • 2 Shaymin-EX ROS 77
  • 3 Combee AOR 9
  • 3 Vespiqueen AOR 10
  • 4 Joltik PHF 26
  • 3 Unown AOR 30
  • 4 Pumpkaboo PHF 44
  • 4 Lampent PHF 42
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums - 30
  • 4 Trainers' Mail ROS 92
  • 1 Shauna XY 127
  • 2 Ultra Ball ROS 93
  • 3 Acro Bike PRC 122
  • 1 AZ PHF 117
  • 4 Battle Compressor PHF 92
  • 2 Muscle Band XY 121
  • 1 Teammates PRC 160
  • 4 VS Seeker ROS 110
  • 1 Hex Maniac AOR 75
  • 1 Lysandre FLF 104
  • 3 Professor Sycamore XY 122
  • 1 Brigette BKT 161
  • 2 Switch ROS 91
Energy - 7
  • 4 DCE NXD 92
  • 3 Psychic Energy BLW 109
This is my current Standard Decklist. I wanted to use it but since the Tournament is in Expanded Format i suppose there are alot of Cards who fit better into the Deck. I already looked up a few Cards and afaik Mew-EX was fairly Standard in the Old Night March Standard Deck. So i was asking myself if i should still build my Deck around a Vespiqueen/Night March Combination or NightMarch/Mew-EX. I made a theoretical Decklist for the Mew-EX Deck, i would greatly appreciate Criticism, because I really want to improve my Deck.
EDIT: Most likely not going to use this List or anything with Mew-EX since it is nearly impossible for me to get hold of 3 copies of it in my native language. Basically gotta run with the NightMarch/Vespiqueen variant.
Mew-EX/NightMarch Decklist:

Pokémon - 21
  • 2 Shaymin-EX ROS 77
  • 4 Joltik PHF 26
  • 2 Bronzor BKT 95
  • 2 Bronzong PHF 61
  • 4 Pumpkaboo PHF 44
  • 4 Lampent PHF 42
  • 3 Mew-EX LTR 139
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums - 32
  • 4 Ultra-Ball ROS 93
  • 1 Revive ROS 88
  • 1 Computersearch BCR 137
  • 3 Dimension-Valley PHF 93
  • 1 Lysandre FLF 104
  • 1 Hex Maniac AOR 75
  • 4 VS Seeker ROS 110
  • 4 Battle-Compressor PHF 92
  • 3 Acro-Bike PRC 122
  • 2 Muscle Band XY 121
  • 1 N NVI 101
  • 3 Professor Sycamore PHF 101
  • 1 Teammates PRC 160
  • 1 Switch PC 163
  • 2 Random Receiver DEX 99
Energy - 7
  • 4 DCE XY 130
  • 3 Metal Energy BLW 112
I really hope you guys can help me out. I thought that Bronzong might help alot against possible Aegislash-Ex, stalls and with a possible Lack of Energy. I couldn't test the Second Deck too much but it was alright the few games i've played.

EDIT: Probably should be moved to Deck Garage. I just realized that there is such a Section, sorry !

Moved from the TCG Help and Advice to the Deck Garage as the OP is asking for help on complete deck lists over incomplete lists or general advice. ~bbninjas

I suggest you straight up change to the Archeops variant, which has been working great with Night March for a while. Since you're new, I don't know if you know what it does, so here:
Also, drop a Mew, because it is too easy to pick you of prizes. Plus, the deck does just fine without it. Since you play standard Night March, you should understand what I'm talking about. Another reason for prize picking from mew is that LandyBats is pretty popular in Expanded, despite ArchieStoise' existence. Which is yet another deck that basically kills you, and yet another reason to play Archeops. I can give you a skeleton for the deck, but I'm not too experienced with the Archeops version. Here goes:

Pokémon:13
  • 4 Joltik
  • 4 Pumpkaboo
  • 4 Lampent
  • 2 Shaymin-EX
  • 2 Mew-EX
  • 1 Archeops
Trainers:35
  • 1 Comp. Search
  • 3 Sycamore
  • 2 Maxie
  • 1 Lysandre
  • 1 Hex Maniac
  • 3 Dimension Valley
  • 3 Muscle Band
  • 1 Float Stone
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 4 Acro Bike
  • 4 Trainers' Mail
  • 4 Battle Compressor
  • 4 VS Seeker
  • 1 Town Map
Energy:7
4 DCE
1 Water
1 Lightning
1 Psychic

Free Space: 4

I personally would suggest Buddy Buddy Rescue over Revive, because Revive only does Basic Pokémon, and can't re-use Shaymin.

I see how that Deck might work, yet i need to play without those Mew's sadly. So what should I replace them with? 2-2 Bronzong line maybe? and run 3 Metal Energies instead of the 3 Different ones. I could deal with Giratina/Aegislash and AV like that. I'd probably also run Teammates, maybe and a Bunnelby.
That would fill all of my Remaining slots. What do you think about that?
If I play without 2x Mew-Ex should I also cut down the amount of Dimension Valley i run? I suppose not right? Since i heavily rely on full Night March now.
EDIT: btw you had only 1 Free Space in that Suggestion you made haha :D

Well, I was a little misleading. When I said "cut down on Mews", I meant to play less than you would normally run. That is the reason I would play 3 different basic energies. They all have the same purpose, without getting in the way. Mew can copy Regice' Resistance Blizzard with the water. It can copy Turbo Volt with the Lightning, and can use Replace with the Psychic. I'll talk more in a bit.

LOL, I counted the Pokémon wrong. :3

Haha yeah, well I would really love to play with Mew's but I need to ask the organizer of the Premier Tournament if English Cards are allowed aswell. I've read different things about the Rules. In one Ruleset they say that Card's can be of a different language as long as there is a native Language reference Card, which I own. But in the Official Ruleset it is written that Tournaments in Europe are held with the Rule in which it says that I am not allowed to use cards which are in a foreign Language, but English is included in the allowed Languages. I hope you understand what i mean. German Mew-Ex are so so so rare i can only find one so far which was set for 120€ ( ~131$) and I cannot afford multiple copies of that haha. Whereas the English copy is available for around 10-20$ something I can afford ( poor Student here). Since I really do not want to prepare with Mew and then shortly before the Tournament switch strategies, i wanted to initially prepare with something different since the Ruleset is kind of shaky.

Alright back to the Topic: Can I play that Archeops Variant without Mew? I was thinking to myself that MAYBE i might lack Damage in the Later stages of the Game/against Deck's without Ex Monsters. A reason why i was thinking about playing Revive/BB Rescue.

Yes, you can play it without Mew, but if you can't afford Mew, you might not be able to afford Archeops. Over here, Archeops is about 15$, whereas Mew is about 7

Its 35€ right here. Jesus why do they have to be so expensive Q_Q Maybe back to Bronzong/NightMarch/Vespiqueen?
I just asked for more Info about the Card Language in the German Forums. If English ones are allowed, I'll definetly run 2x Mew-Ex in my List and i think I will add Bronzong. I just love the quick setup it gives me

EDIT: I can use the English Cards without any restrictions.
What do you think about this one?

It is either going to be the upper one or a Variant of this one:

Bronzong is just so good ! You think there is a way to fit Bronzong in a Deck with Mew? It would restrict Mew regarding certain Attacks or do you think Vespiqueen/NightMarch/Bronzong is something made for Standard since Mew-Ex is just too strong in Expanded?

Well, you really shouldn't mix Bronzong and Vespiquen into Night March. And no. 1 really only needs a 1-1 Milotic, and find some space for Acro Bike. But, do keep in mind that Bats tear Night March apart, especially in Expanded where Landorus exists. You also don't really N, since Milotic can abuse Battle Compressor.

Alright I will go with the First Decklist. I decided to use the Mew-Ex Variant of pure NightMarch.
Now there are a few more Questions I do have.
* 1) Is Computersearch really that good? It is a rather expensive Card and I would like to know if it is really worth it's Money or can I replace it with something similar? Teammates does nearly the same Job only requires my opponent to kill a NightMarch Monster which happens yeah kind of every turn haha.
* 2) Since I run a 1-1 Milotic Line, Bunnelby is not worth to go with anymore right?
* 3) Should I keep Silver Bangle or replace it with another Muscle Band? I could replace the Silver Bangle with a Jirachi Ex aswell, would it be worth it? I can see Silver Bangle be really useful in some cases (f.e. killing M-Mewtu Y since it has 210 HP ).

It does look pretty similar to my standard list(Which is really consistant), and it does need to be somewhat tweaked. Comp. Search is really worth it's money, because it is played in basically every expanded deck. I personally wouldn't play Team mates, but because you are playing expanded, it could be good. Town Map isn't worth it, you should trade that out with a 4th Acro Bike. You should also take out the 4th Dimension Valley for a 4th Sycamore. Jirachi is definitely NOT worth it. You play Pokémon that are super easy prizes already, Jirachi would only make it worse. You play 4 VS Seeker, and 4 Compressors, you should be fine. Mewtwo Y is absolutely no problem whatsoever. You hit for weakness, which all you have to do is discard 6 Night Marchers. It sounds hard, but it is super simple. I would play the Muscle Band over Bangle. I would take out Float Stone for a Switch, since Milotic can reuse it all you want. Since Shaymin start happens more often than you might think, and because Milotic makes profit of this, I would play an AZ. That would also make Teammates irrelevant, but I really don't know, as I don't play that in expanded. I think it could work, so kind of want you to try it out, and see how it functions.

I would love to test that Deck intensively but as you can see I lack some Key Cards like my Second Shaymin, the Milotic, Computersearch aswell. I play for a short amount of time and i couldnt afford more sadly :C
No Teammates, hmm sounds reasonable they simply won me so many games in standard because i could just vs seeker them whenever i needed 2 specific cards without drawing my deck empty, since I do play mostly on about 8 cards in the Deck after Turn 3.
So basically :
-1 Teammates +1 Acro Bike; I can do that and try how it works.

-1 Town Map
+1 Sycamore
-1 Lightstone
+1 Switch
-1 Bangle
+1 Band
Now there will be a problem with this tho or maybe not a Problem but a question. Isnt Town map really important in a NightMarch Deck? Knowing what prices I can take helps alot especially if I am stuck with the situation of 2-3 Marches in my prices.
Also since I play a 1-1 Line of Milotic I could run 1-2 Super Scoop Ups instead of AZ. With a little bit of luck i can abuse that Milotic even more

EDIT: What about Mr.Mime? With the Bench Barrier I might avoid some Dmg from Lando/Bats or at least from their attacks. Tho silent lab kinda counters it and afaik Lando/Bats does play it right?

Not with the Scoop Ups, if you don't play 4, don't even bother. You should run Mr. Mime, I completely forgot about it, but that is a good idea. Silent Lab doesn't do anything but mess yourself up, and they do typically play 1/2. Town Map doesn't really matter, because all it does is let you see your prizes. It's not like it will change your deck, and you really need the space. Plus, your opponent will be able to easily beat you if they know your Night Marchers are prized. They will play it safe, and leave openings for situations that are not the current one.

Well yeah that is true. So I should add 1 Mr.Mime right? It was just something I realized that might work out quite well, since against Bats I play mostly with Mew-Ex and Pumpkaboo anyways.

That is how the Deck looks like imo. I am already buying the Main Cards even the expensive Computersearch :c Hurts my Wallet Q_Q Hopefully i get to sell my Rayquaza haha.

How much money are you blowing on this deck anyway?

I always thought that dowsing machine was the better choice in night March decks so you can repeat any trainer you already played.

What exactly do I want to target with the Dowsing Machine? I guess the most important Trainercards are not worth using it a 5th time besides maybe a Vs.Seeker.
I play on spending about 110€ on it, should be around 120-125$.

It's really not worth spending that much. why can't you do a current exchange, then go on ebay and buy it for cheap. I have a lot on ebay that has comp. search and dowsing machine for 25 U.S $. Over here, Dowsing Machine is worth around 4.75$. If the English copies are allowed there, get them.

I buy them in English if its possible but the Shipping is always about 10€ which adds up and in the end it is more than what i had to pay in europe. I am already buying Cards for about 0,50 cent per card etc. Trying to get them as cheap as possible. The biggest investems are basically getting all the Trainercards. and maybe Mew haha. At least i got the Shaymins already !
Already buying and selling on ebay :) Trying to get some money back with me Shiny Mega Ray Ex etc.
