Standard Night March / Hawlucha

UK Regionals is coming up soon so I've tried a few different things. The thing that I struggle with in this build is with Hawlucha, I want to play strong energy but the utility of the basic fighting energy overrides that as you can put 2 on the Night March guys, aswell as play it under Giratina and it won't get knocked off by Xerosic/Enhanced Hammer. Anyway, look forward to seeing replies.

Pokemon:17
  • 4 Joltik
  • 4 Pumpkaboo
  • 4 Lampent
  • 3 Hawlucha
  • 2 Shaymin EX
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 36
  • 4 Professor Birch's Observations
  • 4 Professor Sycamore
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 1 Xerosic
  • 1 Teammates
  • 1 Hex Maniac
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 4 VS Seeker
  • 4 Trainer's Mail
  • 4 Battle Compressor
  • 4 Dimension Valley
  • 2 Muscle Band
  • 1 Revive
Energy: 7
  • 3 Fighting Energy
  • 4 Double Colorless Energy
Strategy:

Basically the reason why Hawlucha is in the deck is for first of all a free retreat allowing you to swap into it when a night marcher is knocked out which allows you to not invest so heavily on the bench (limiting the number of marchers in your discard) plus it adds incremental damage if you can't OHKO an ex, you are not wasting a double colorless.

what is the rational in putting Hawlucha into night march deck?

This is my thoguht
1. damage of night marcher easily overpower Hawlucha (3 in the discard)
2. if Aegislash is your concern, then Hawlucha is too weak to hit Aegislash without fighting stadium and strong energy (top at 80)
3. if Xerosic and enhanced hammer are your concern, would you consider Bunnelby? (i know, giving up one prize)

just my 2 cents

Hi buddy, thanks for your reply. how about Dunsparce xy1? also free retreat, using a DCE may KO a mega following an attack from a night marcher

You could add bench barrier MR. Mime from BREAKthrough. Really all these pokemon are easy to snipe. The hardest one being shaymin with 3 crobats and 1 golbat, but they do that consistently. MR. Mime would be a good decision so maybe take out one birch for it.

Take out 1 birch and 1 sycamore for a muscle band and a revive. 2-3 is enough, but 4 is a little over the top for me.

I agree with Birch, but Sycamore discards the pokemon you need to so maybe -1 birch for +1 muscle band.

-2 Birch +1 Muscle Band + 1 Revive. Both cards are too invaluable to the deck, especially revive; considering the small amount of hp your Pokemon have.
Also, a -2 Traniers Mail for +2 Acro Bike, it allows for further possible discarding of Pokemon and turbo through the deck.
