Posts MUST be several sentences long with proper grammar and spelling or they will be deleted - this forum is to discuss specific cards so other people can learn about their potential in the current metagame.

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
The card does not stand on it's own, its only used as a draw engine, often with typhlosion prime
2. What popular metagame decks is it used in?
It is used in Charizard, otherwise known as Charizard/Ninetales/Typhlosion
3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
Stated above, can also be used with flygon, ursaring prime or really any fire/ =collorless pokemon
4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
I give it a 5/5. There really are no downsides to a consistent draw engine, but its too bad it cant discard any energy
5. How's the artwork?
I love the artwork, it really shows how majestic ninetales is.

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?

On it's own it is a nice draw enginee, but needs some assist from delcatty or thyplosion.
Worth beeing played in a deck with fire energies.

2. What popular metagame decks is it used in?

Non, I know. Might come...

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?

As said with Thyplosion or Delcatty, but not that strong.

4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).

2,5 out of 5. It is a great card for fire decks, but those are just to rare!

5. How's the artwork?

It's okay, but I think it could be better. So 2 out of 5.

1.) It gives itself a great draw engine, but well..the attack isn't that great, but 60 for three without any backslash is still okay. One retreat and 90 HP are two adventages over Claydol, it can be easily retreated and Garchomp C Lv.X can't snipe it without the help of Crobat G.
2.) I didn't see this in the metagame to be honest...but you can play it with Typhlosion Prime and any fire Pokémon, it also worked for me as a tech in my LuxApe deck.
3.) I tried Firegon and Typhlosion/Charizard/Ninetales, both worked pretty well, Ninetales gives you a great draw engine, especially in the new format were is like no Claydol. Also Roast Reveal helps Typhlosion Prime's Afterburner to get out your fire energies faster.
4.) Ninetales gets a 3.5/5 from me, it has a great drawing ability, also the stats of HP and retreat cost are better than Claydol's. Problem is, it only works for fire decks or colorless decks like Flygon. Also, if you're out of fire energies, Ninetales is basically a blank card on the field so you probably have to find space for more Palmer's/Night Maintenance or Fisherman.
5.) I love it, the fire stone gives the card another main focal to look at and Ninetales looks just majestic on the card. Good job TOKIYA!

1. It is awesome! It should be used in the rare Colorless or Fire-type deck.

2. None

3. Typhlosion Prime with Stark Mountain and Bench Shield should allow you to attach an energy, stick a damage counter on a tech like this, and move it wherever you want without fearing snipers. It is Luxray-weak though. If you dislike that, Nidoqueen is always an option.

4. 5/5 It's one of the only cards that can support a typed archetype rather than a specific strategy/pokemon such as disruption, Gyarados, or SP.

5. 4/5 It looks like it's about to fall backwards, but the art is shaded very nicely.

Hello, Delcatty EX Ruby and Sapphire for Fire Pokemon!

1.) It's not good on its own. This card is definately for support. Three Energy for 60? No way.

2.) Mostly used in Charizard, but not really used for anything else. Perfect for a Fire deck, and preferred over Claydol in Fire decks. Seriously, it's good.

3.) Uh...Stark Mountain? Typhlosion, both MT and its Prime counterpart, both take Energy from the Discard Pile. Using Stark Mountain, you can move 'em around after you discard them.

4.) Unfortunately, this card is pretty much limited to Fire decks, so I'll give it a 3/5. Not as good as the Delcatty from EX Ruby and Sapphire/EX Power Keepers, but nonetheless, a choice for Typhlosion users.

5.) Very epic. I like the Fire Stone in there!

Don't stare at the image above. You'll get tired of seeing this card much sooner.

Every deck with fire-type pokemon will play this card if that player has one, unless they have something against good cards. This card goes especially well with Typhlosion prime, just Roast Reveal away a fire energy, and get it in play with Afterburner. This card might not need to be played in a fire deck. I've heard talk from players who are willing to put fire energies in their deck just to take advantage of it. I wouldn't go that far, when there are other options. But in fire decks, Ninetales looks to be the gold standard for card support.

Some have even started to compare it to Claydol, against which it has some advantages and disadvantages. To it's advantage, it has more HP, a Pokepower that's good even if you already have a lot of cards in your hand, and a retreat cost of only 1. Against it is the fact that it doesn't replenish your deck in the way Claydol does, so you should probably play something like Copycat to prevent a decking disaster. Also, it's use outside of fire decks is questionable.

For a basic pokemon to go with this, you should play Vulpix from Platinum. It's Find Wildfire gets you two fire energy cards from your deck. That works rather well with Ninetales.

To kill this card, you have to be a little more elegant than with Claydol. It's lower retreat cost means it's less likely to be active if you don't knock it out with one hit, and it's 90 HP means it will take more than Garchomp C lv X's Dragon Rush to beat it, you'll want to have a Crobat G to go with it. That's not a problem with SP decks. With Unown G being cycled out, Gengar from Stormfront will give this card some trouble, though it will take a couple turns to beat it even if you're playing a Supreme Victors Metagross. There's no easy way to get rid of this card, which will lend to it's popularity for the time being.

Notice how I didn't describe how well this card plays by itself? That's because it can't. This card was intended to be for support, not for attacking. If it ever becomes active, most players will do what they can to get it back on the bench.

Ninetales from HGSS gets a score of 4 out of 5.

Honestly, I think it's a little overrated. But what I think isn't going to stop anyone from playing it. It will have Uxie, Staraptor FB lv X, and Dodrio from Supreme Victors to compete with. But in a fire deck, the choice is obvious.

1. The card isn't great on it's own. It should be used for draw power or possibly as a backup pokemon.

2. I have no clue. I don't like metagame decks. But i think it would do great in any fire deck.

3. It should definitely be used with Typhlosion prime. Use Ninetale's poke power to discard energy and boom! Use Afterburner to power up Typhlosion. It could also do well with Charizard.

4. 3.5/5 I think it's another one of those slightly overrated cards. It's great for fire decks though. The attack isn't that good but it's poke power kinda makes up for it.

5. The artwork is awesome 5/5 for sure! =D

1. The card can not stand on it's own. But good with the aid of a fire Pokemon.
2. None yet...
3. Well, if you had Charizard as your active (the one from Arceus), then if this was on your bench along with other Pokemon (preferrably Typhlosion), then Charizard's attacks would basically have a one KO hit every time.
4. 5/5-It's not that bad of a card. Good way to draw cards. Make sure you add a Fisherman from HGSS so you can get back that fire energy.
5. I love it. Only word to describe it: Epic. I also like the Fire Stone next to it!

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or has potential? Is it worth playing?

Ninetales is not meant to be on its own, as essentially, it is supposed to be a support Pokemon for drawpower. The Poke-power is notably what gives it very good drawpower. You discard a fire energy from your hand, and then you draw 3 cards. This Poke-power is especially helpful in fire decks that's for sure. The attack? Well, 60 is decent damage, but the fact it needs 3 energies to use it isn't so satisfying. Thus, Ninetales is not that good on its own, but it has potential, and it is worth playing only in fire decks.

2. What popular metagame decks is it used in?

Notably, Ninetales is very popular with Charizard AR right now in our current metagame. Why? Well, Charizard AR increases damage for every fire Pokemon in play thanks to the Poke-body, so if you can set up some Ninetales and some Charizards, you can have a good way of dealing damage. Furthermore, Ninetales can help with drawpower so that Charizard can set up faster. Along with Typhlosion Prime to bring out the discarded fire energies from Ninetales (and Charizard) as well, Ninetales has found a way into our metagame, and it might even become better next year.

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?

Other than Charizard AR, Typhlosion Prime, as mentioned earlier, would be the one card I'd run Ninetales with. Typhlosion Prime helps bring out the fire energy discarded from the discard pile thanks to its Poke-power. In this way, you have the ability to reuse Ninetales's Poke-power in a more helpful way for almost every turn.

4. Give it a rating, and explain why you would give it that rating.

I would give Ninetales a 3.5/5. Ninetales has an excellent Poke-power that especially helps many fire decks greatly, namely Charizard AR and more recently, Magmortar UL. With the ability to discard fire, something like a Typhlosion Prime can help bring out discarded fire energies from Ninetales's Poke-power so you can really create a great of drawing out cards from your deck. However, the main reason why Ninetales isn't that good is because it isn't the best attacker, has a rather bad weakness, and the fact it only works in fire decks, not just any deck. Really, the fact the energy has to be fire limits its usages in other decks, so Ninetales isn't like Claydol for everyone.

5. How's the artwork?

I honestly think the artwork is epic. Notice how Ninetales literally "circles" that Fire Stone. The steam in the background really adds the feel of Ninetales that's for sure. I have to admit, this is a pretty cool artwork for Ninetales.

Personally, I think the Ninetales is descent. Roast reveal is very useful, but I think Will-o'-the-wisp should also burn, and it should have no retreat cost.

you could combo with, but with Banette Pl it would be good to use Roast Reveal, then Temper Tantrum, then Darkness Switch.

Because it could have better effect and lower retreat cost, I say 3.5/5.:shy:

The artwork is a bit unusual because it makes it look like it's flying

1. It's a future Claydol in fire decks. That's about it.

2. Charizard, if Charizard is a meta-deck. Just for draw power.

3. Any fire decks, really. Typhlosion Prime is a big one.

4. 4/5 Great for Draw power in fire decks.

5. Very cool, love the fire stone in the middle.

im going to answere the questions in my own way. lets just say this card is awesome

I like the card.

1. It does not stand well on its own, but with help (Typhlosion/Ninetales/Charizard) it can do pretty well.
2.I mentioned it earlier
3.Same again
4.3/5 Drawing three cards is good, and using the Typhlsion to get back that is also good.
5.It is EPIC!

1. on its own, its borderline bad/okay. 90hp for stage is normal but 3 energy for 60 damage isn't good now
2. not sure.
3. ones said above or using a deck with Inferape/InferapeLVX combined with lots of fire energies
4. 4/5 its a bench sitter not meant for fighting and won't die too easily aswell
5. Okay, so Ninetales evolved so shouldn't the fire stone vanished already? other than that its awesome

I'm only a collector, so I can only rate the artwork...

5.The artwork is great, TOKIYA does that awesome shading...

I want a TOKIYA LEGEND Card... Or maybe Ninetails Prime?

1. The card is not very well alone.
2. Theres no metegame decks that I know of that it is used in.
3. You can have Typhlosion Prime.
4. My rating would be 4/5. This card could be good if it is used in a fire deck.
5. The artwork is amazing.

1. How does the card stand on its own? Is it good, bad, or have potential? Is it worth being played?
this card is good for draiwing engine.

2. What popular metagame decks is it used in?
i think prime typhlosion since he can afterburner and so the fire energy not being wasted.

3. What combos can you use it with? How so?
i do not have this deck if yes i will combine with prime typhlosion too.

4. Give it a rating, and explain why you have given it that rating. You can also rate the card by rating the thread itself (out of 5 stars).
4.5 stars

5. How's the artwork?
really nice i like it :)

1. On its own, it won't help much. If you pair it up with Mismagius GL Lv. X or Typhlosion Prime, it can help a lot.

2. Nothing yet. Unfortunately, there aren't too many good fire-type decks out there.

3. Typhlosion Prime and Mismagius GL Lv. X.

4. 4 Stars. Good if you know how to use it.

5. The artwork is awesome! 5/5. To all of you that don't know, HS cards have their evo items in the pics.

1.Ninetales is not a card that stands on its own at all, it is best used to draw a lot of cards quickly.

2. None that I know of, because the cards it combos with aren't too
popular.

3.One is Typhlosion Prime, because it can fetch the energy you discard back. Another is Mismagius GL Lv.X because it does more damage the more cards in your hand. The last is Typhlosion from Mysterious Treasures for the same reason as Typhlosion Prime.

4. Ninetales can be good if you can use it right, but since there aren't many great combos out there, I give it 3.5/5

5. Awesome! 5/5. I love the background!
