So, I made and bought a deck... I guess I should have asked around about the deck first, but the hype was just too real. So, here I am posting this deck and asking if anybody has any ideas about what I could do to make the deck better/faster, etc. Anything would help at this point.

Pokemon: 19
  • 3 Noibat (Breakthrough)
  • 3 Noivern (Furious Fist)
  • 1 Noivern BREAK (Breakthrough)
  • 4 Gastly (Breakthrough)
  • 3 Haunter (Breakthrough)
  • 3 Gengar (Breakthrough)
  • 2 Shaymin EX (Roaring Skies)
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums: 31
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 1 AZ
  • 3 Skyla
  • 3 Professor Sycamore
  • 1 Brigette
  • 1 Xerosic
  • 2 Dimension Valley
  • 2 Shadow Circle
  • 4 VS Seeker
  • 2 Rare Candy
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 4 Battle Compressor
  • 1 Professor's Letter
  • 1 Sacred Ash
Energy: 10

  • 4 Double Dragon
  • 4 Psychic Energy
  • 2 Darkness Energy
Strategy:

The idea, set up Noivern and use him to hit the opponent and everything they have for 30. I've thought of running Switch to then switch into Gengar and OHKO right there, and I know they are not in the deck list, but I do have them available and in consideration.

So, does anybody have any ideas for this deck and what could make it better? I like the idea of Noivern because he can simply sit there and deal damage, and he isn't EX so if he dies he only gives 1 prize. Not to mention the Echolocation ability, while RNG, provides a good back up if heads comes up.

I feel like the Rare Candy will not be able to set me up from time to time. I can still get to Gengar with my Ultra Balls, though, which I think will definitely be helpful. I have honestly considered taking out the Rare Candy for Wally, but then again, I can only play one supporter per turn, and I feel like my other supports might be more important to play per turn than Wally.

Any ideas?

It's probably wise to play a secondary draw supporter like Professor Birch's Observation. Also I think some Level Ball would help your set-up, it can get you Noibat, Gastly or Haunter. If you insist on not playing another Rare Candy, I would put at least one Wally in there. Evolving two lines of pokémon is hard, especially when one of them is a stage 2. Also I believe Pokémon Fan Club is still a better choice if you rely on Shaymin EX. Which only works when you play it from your hand. At last I would get rid of Shadow Circle. Defensive stadiums don't work very well. It's very situational. You only run two darkness energy and you only have two Shadow Circle. If your opponent lays down a stadium of his own then you didn't gain anything. Instead another Dimension valley or two would help your consistency a lot. Just some suggestions.

Depending on how much you're planning to use Noivern BREAK I'd stick in some Judge and Battle Reporter just so you can get your hand to a similar size.

im trying to make a similar deck with noivern and gengar, i would definitly suggest adding atleast one more noivern break and, you need some more draw support, if you go more for the noivern, i'd say add judge or battle reporter like Marshalbry said, if not going for noivern break as attaker go for some prof birch, shauna or even tierno if you want, would add a super rod maybe instead of sacred ash, more dimension valley instead of shadow circle (just personnal preference, if you like more shadow keep it). I don't really see a point of 4 battle comp, maybe you could tell me, add some level ball since you can get noibat, gastly and haunter, maybe only 2 skyla i don't see a point in running 3 if you get some good draw support (my point of view+ i like more the number 2 XD) what's the Az for? ah nvm for shaymins. that's all i had to say :) thanks

I made this deck differently, and it works so very great!!

Pokemon (18)

3-3-1 Noivern Line
2 Shaymin-EX
3-3-3 Gengar Line

Trainers (32)

3 Level Ball
4 Trainers' Mail
4 Ultra Ball
1 Super Rod
4 VS Seeker
1 Judge
1 Hex Maniac
1 Lysandre
3 Professor Birch
3 Professor Sycamore
3 Dimension Valley
1 Parallel City
2 Float Stone
1 Sparkling Robe

Energy (10)

4 Double Dragon Energy
6 Psychic Energy

Don't play Wally or Rare Candy!!! You really want the Haunter / Noivern combination!! Haunter his ability can only be used when evolved from the hand.

Ideal set up: Start with Noibat, with Gastly on the bench. Attach 1 Psychic energy on Noibat and end your turn. Little chance the opponent can knock out Noibat in 1 shot. If you went second, use Noibat his attack Mysterious Beam to have a shot at slowing the opponent down. In your second turn you want to evolve Gastly into Haunter, leaving both active Pokemon confused. Then evolve Noibat into Noivern, attach the last energy and do 30 damage on all Pokemon. Next turn you want to evolve Haunter into Gengar, attaching a energy, putting out Dimension Valley, retreat Noivern with float stone and let Gengar take over.

Hex Maniac is in here, not because of item lock being a thing, but Mr Mime causing a major problem for the deck. You need to use Hex just before dealing damage with Noivern to shut down Mr Mime for that turn. Also its great against lots of decks with abilities. Yes it shuts down echolocation for that turn, but you only need Noivern to attack once! Then its no problem if he gets KOed, you want to continue battle with Gengar anyway.

Parallel City makes sure that at one point in the game you can discard the two Shaymin-EX. Put the side with only 3 Pokemon on the bench to yourself and discard the Shaymin's or heavily damaged other Pokemon. Make sure your opponent cannot take out even 1 Shaymin-EX and take 2 prizes. You want that 6 prize card game.

Sparkling Robe has a obvious goal: prevent Gengar or Noivern (Break) from becoming confused when Gastly evolves into Haunter. Making sure your opponent is confused. Leaving 25% chance of attack when Noivern (Break) is in the active spot.

Noivern Break is only being used of you find all Gengar, all Haunter or all Gastly are prized, but in all other battles you don't need him. You can evolve if you want, but the attack... You really do not need it if you have Gengar up and running. Its just a backup attacker in case of.....

Good Luck with the deck!

I really do appreciate all of the input. I have since put this deck together utilizing some of the list I originally put up. Unfortunately I don't feel like the deck is working out, but I am not willing to give up on it because I know it has potential. I just need to find the right cards.

I am looking into the deck Royalebouquet put together, I like how it seems to flow and it definitely might be worth putting together.

I am also looking into an Octillery Remoraid version of this too, which utilizes some of the same cards.

Once again, thank you all for the input. Let me know if you guys come up with anything else!
