I am a fan of koko, oricorio, and Honchkrow. It's fun playing the come from behind spread decks.

oranguru (draw up to 3) and exhausting cards that one can always play to get card count down (rotom dex works well in this deck as well). It's the draw engine for a lot of Shrine decks, and spread decks, but works for much more than that

This sounds a bit crazy, and non meta, but playing new Naganadel, quagsire and swampert. Naga helps to bring energy back from the discard pile and quagsire moves them to active swampert to hit numbers. I'm really interested in doing this more with Kingdra gx, but you said no gx so swampert may work.

Goomy. Mill ‘em to infinity and beyond. It’s all one prize (unless you use Kartana GX) and its hilariously fun.
