I'm an older player and my younger brothers are getting into the game. I was wondering what sets legal to use, and if the old sets(basic fossil) are compatable with the new sets?

Currently, we can still use the EX Deoxys-Diamond & Pearl format but once after Worlds 2007, the format will be EX Holon Phantom-Diamond & Pearl...
In Modified tournaments, like Psychic Pokemon Master said, it's everything past EX Deoxys. However, in a Pokemon League, if you have on in you're area, all sets are usable (Except for a couple obscure, goofy promos, but most promos are legal).
