Ruling One Simple Question.

Hi there.

I just had one quick question regarding a certain rule in the game. Officially, can cards from older sets (we're talking old Wizards of the Coasts sets, here) still be used in actual Pokemon Trading Card Game events, or have they since been banned from play?

In modified play, no.

In unlimited play, yes.

It depends. Have these cards been re-printed? Here, www.pokemontcg.com is the official Pokemon website. They can offer you all you need to know. (I hope this isn't advertising :_)

More accurately, LV's list of reprinted cards in the Deck Garage is more comprehensive. Apprentice, while old, has a pretty good database up to PK.

Some cards like pluspower and metal energy have a slight difference, so you MUST bring a copy of the unedited page of the card-dex and use that effect.
