Online Organized Play League Suggestions <-- Please Read!

Hi. I didn't know where to post this thread, but I just recently stumbled upon the pokebeach website. I am a Magic Player and use to play Pokemon back when the first 3 editions were out. I am interested in getting back into the game, but don't want to buy cards untill I get to know the newer cards. I have a suggestion to help your league grow and run more effectivley. It seems like magic-league the largest online league for magic has had over 10 years of success with the system they have implimented. They have a mirc channel on an mirc server (irc.SolidIRC.com #magic-league) and I suggest to run tournaments or have online league play, chatting on this server between players and judges helps a great deal (trust me). Also they have a website (www.magic-league.com) where people can sign up and have a rating. Tournament winners decks are shown on the site with link to images of cards when looking at the cards. Forums are found on the site as well and all other magic and mws information and downloads. I think the pokemon community could grow if they used this system of organized and casual play and allow more contact between players as they could chat and discuss different decks and strategies. The Magic-Workstation Program is a really organized and efficient program designed for all kinds of games. I found the magic workstation program on www.magicworkstation.com .. www.mwsgames.com .. magic workstation program and also I found the masterbase of all the cards in pokemon and i found the pokemon theme. Mws is great because it gives you all the card images and text on the cards and allows for counters and anything you would need to use to play pokemon (and its free!) I think this is possible and I've read in the forums that people are leaning towards using magic workstation. It is easy to use and you can connect through different servers even if you have a firewall/router. I think this could be a great help to organized online play and help people alot in the pokemon tcg testing. If anyone else has any ideas or suggestions to improve the online gaming situation and chatting. Please feel free to write your suggestions and ideas in this forum. Also you can email me if you have any ideas or interest. I would love to see this happen to the game because it seems way more fun to play now than it did back then. When the cards were more bland and super energy removal/energy removal /raindance/pro oak and wiggley tuff decks ran rampant got kinda boring. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
Chris Weidinger

Wow, um, yeah, that is a boatload of stuff to read, may I suggest the use of some paragraphs in between?

Anyway, we have Redshark to play online on, and there are some minor tournaments. However, due to varied problems (Local times, general age of players, among other things), getting an effective league is kind of hard. So Redshark is mainly used for friendly games. So if you wish to play online without buying cards to begin with, look at the Redshark portion of both the main site and the forum. Should give you a good start.

So yah, for the closest thing we have to an online league right now, go here:

Hm.

At the current time, Hamachi is really a quick way for Redshark users to play with one another. I currently have a RedShark leauge of my own set up (yes, it has ratings - manually done though).

However, I'm going to take a look at what you have here, and see if I can use it. Thanks.
