What are your opinions so far about this set/LV X....?

I dont really like it as much as DP2 and DP3... im kinda disapointed speacially about those new tins....

but atleast some cards are really cool like creeselia lv x and pachirisu..

I really liked this set. The packs are also treating me better.

(Note: The following is not spam: I'm just going to post it at the end of all my posts made today.)

Spread the cheer, Great Encouters is here!

Happy Great Encouters Day!

Its a cool set. It will alter the metagame greatly, once people got over the OMG GARDYLLADE FTW mindset.

You know at first I thought this set would not be what it was cracked up to be. Especially when we found out the eevee squad would be absent. But I have come to really like this set after all! Some grat cards, some bad ones to but very good set overall!

My opinion...there's no main attackers here, they all suck, nothing to build a deck around. However, this set has some of the best modified techs around. Some of which are Claydol, Slowking, Unown G, Cresselia Lv. X ect. The trainers are decent, you can expect to see Felicity's and Moonlight Stadium see some play. Pachirisu is a great starter and will also see some play. Overall 7/10

Personally I actually like it better then any of the previous DP sets. It doesn't have any stupidly broken cards(Blissey, Gardy/lade, Infernape at the time the set was released).

It has good, playable cards such as: Exploud, P-Z, Sceptile, Wailord, Swampert/Marshtomp, Tangrowth, Beedrill, Cresselia Lv.x, Darkrai Lv.x(though both darkrai and cresselia are over-hyped they're not that great), Palkia Lv.x, Houndoom, Weezing, Lunatone/Solrock, Volbeat/Illumise, Blaziken, Lapras, Pachirisu, Felicity's, and Moonlight stadium.

Now that's a pretty nice size list of playable cards don't ya' think? Really think about the potential of this set before bashing it just because there wasn't fossils or eeveelutions.

The pokemon aren't that good. But nearly all the trainers are great. I'll only buy this for the trainers.

I like this set mainly for the reason that Wailord is back. I'm also rather glad (and surprised) the designers chose to bring back the Wild Growth power.

I'm not sure where my opinions lie in this set compared to the others. I seldomly buy Pokémon cards anymore (all of the cards from the last three sets I have come only from prereleases), but I'm glad that this isn't practically all Ken Sugimori. The illustrations are back to being nice and creative with dynamic poses, we have plenty of new and talented artists with interesting takes, and I'm glad that Kagemaru Himeno is still around, my favorite of the 2-D artists.

In my opinion, Great Encounters is a fine set, filled with some interesting pokemon. For example, Blaziken, Cresselia, Darkrai, Togekiss, Exploud, Houndoom & not to mention the big whale, Wailord. They also have some good pokemon tech like Claydol, Slowking, Porygon 2 & possible Unown G too. Apart from that, more pokemon that can be starters are introduced, like Pachirisu, Lapras & Mawile. As for the trainers, they are ok but some just outshine the others like Moonlight Stadium & maybe Premier Ball & for the LV X, all of them has their own special attributes, you just need to find which card that can work well with it... :)

In my opinion I would say this set has been magnificent so far for me I mean its way easier to pull rare candys ,the lvx in the set are fantastic and so are the pokemon so in all this set has came out to be really great.exspecially me pulling darkrai x. out of my box i got.>,<

I am a little disappointed at all the cards they've cut out for the American release (Eevees and Garchomp X, mostly), but I have to say that I'm pretty excited. I've read all the scans, and it'll be awesome to go see these things in action this weekend. Hopefully I'll be able to form a deck that can stand up to a darn Blissey, now!

I'm sure the next set will have the Eevees and the LV. X's will be Garchomp, Leafeon, and Glaceon. The return of Eevee will probably be their big marketing thing, and they'll throw in some from Japanese DP5, most likely save Heatran and Regigigas for English DP6.

Anyways, I'm not that excited actually. I still haven't pulled Lugia or Ho-Oh from Secret Wonders, and being my 2 favorite Pokemon, that's priority,

I am, however, excited for the ease of making new decks; Dialga/Palkia/Darkrai decks and tins with the LV. X versions of those decks main stars.

You could've always built, y'know, Gallade.

Also, it seems rather hard to actually pull Candy. Got only 2 in my box. Interestingly enough, not a single of the trainers was more often as 4 times in the box, with Felicity only three times and Candy, as mentionned, only twice.

It's Great
With Exploud, Blaze, Sceppy, etc.
But all I really want is Cressilia Lv.x and Pachirisu

You sure about that? Mind friend pulled 2 candies in 2 boosters only including a holo one and another one was pulled in the same box.
But I also heard there are some 'dark' boxes where there's no lv.xs at all in the box. Is this true?

i pulled three rare candys in a box and actually make that four cuz of the reverse holo i pulled.
also tss i highly dought thats true cuz of the four lv.x's in the set theres a chance to get 2 or 1 in a box and thats it.

TSS i dont believe dark boxes and stuff, but no lv x's in a box can and does happen, but its not a secret conspiracy or anything.... just random.....

I've heard of none of these yet. I've pulled a Level X from mine, as well as the guy I was judging with pulled one. My girlfriend got one in her half box for judging. I've heard rumors, but they have no merit just yet.

I personally believe that the set is amazing. Its well balanced with a lot of usable cards and techs, with no ridiculously overpowered cards. All of the Level X's if used properly are very stable and usable but not broken. Theres a lot of good techs, but not as many attackers as people might be hoping for. (Blaziken is about the best aggressive one of my knowledge.)
