Now I haven't been to many tournaments so I only have a couple, here is one of them:

I was playing this kid and he was decked out the the best Pokemon Stuff, a worlds hat, Carnival Pikachu Sleeves, Heatran/Gigas deck box, Tropical Beaches, all of that stuff.
We happend to both be playing close to the same thing, he, Chandyplume and I Speed Chandy. He was really happy about being there and was bragging about his new "gear". In the end I won 6-2 Prizes, I said good game and thanks for playing, then he started Crying and crying... It was kinda sad to watch... He was really sad about losing a measly game in a CC... All of the (I think 40) kids started looking at me and were wondering what the heck I did to the poor kid. I didn't cheat, lie or do anything bad.... When I finished the tournament I told my sis what happend and she really started laughing...

What is your story?
 
I was at a states ( luxchomp format ). I ended up getting 2nd. Anyway I go first get 3 sp on the field then he goes an collectors for 2 uxies and power spray both he then has a bad attitude the worst part is AFTER. I win the match he calls a judge ( witch was a friend) and "complained" about it
 
I think it was round 1 of States last year. I was playing Sablock vs my opponent's VileGar. I started with sableye, failed to chatot G lock him. I cyrus Initiative for 2 taking out a supporter and a haunter. His board is Oddish Ghastly and his hand was Plume Gar GarX. He gets ready to extend hand, but draws a Collector and gets excited. He searched for Spiritomb and attacked with it. I attach a SP dark to Spiritomb and Chatot G seeing all supporters :/ I show him and he gets excited again. I was having fun... clearly the luck Gods were with him that day... I ended up barely beating him due to my clutch Trade Off looking for my last DCE in deck. Very good game :) I revealed the two cards from trade off (it was my last play). DCE I win, no DCE I lose. The first card was something stupid, and the second card was a DCE. Many people were watching our game and they all yelled "OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH". Amazing game overall
 
well in nats at t32 my opp;onet was crying after i 6-0 there donphan with luxchomp. it was kinda sad and i just sat there awkwardy with parents looking at me funny

same tourney in t16
it was game 3 and i had the game sealed and she had 1 gengar left. she flipped 3 heads on ssu to pick everyting else up(except a ghasly) and passes. the prizes were 3-2 (in her favor but she was out of attackers). i knocked out her gengar she flipped heads with fainting spell(2 others in that game) then time was called and she had 1 left and i had 2. she started freaking out xD while i sat there stunned at what just happened( i had the game sealed as she had nothing and zero attackers.
 
The first year I started playing, someone scooped against me because they found my play style too annoying. It was in top 4 at States... Pretty ridiculous, but I feel I went a little over the top cause I could tell he was getting annoyed and I started pushing his buttons. He probably deserved it though for being such a jerk when he played my friend and he kicked him out of top cut. I won the first game, then before the second game he didn't want me to cut his deck. So he told the judge to shuffle it for me, then he expected to shuffle my deck! So I made the judge shuffle my deck as well. He basically just stood up, said he couldn't take anymore and left.

Another time at Regionals I was playtesting with this kid who was using Tyranitar, I was playing FlyLock. He was getting kinda full of himself cause he took an early prize lead, then when he was down to 1 prize, I finally got the lock down. He couldn't break it and decked. He got all mad and started telling me that my deck was stupid and took no skill to play. Good times.
 
You know, ironically the only time I ever had someone who was actually legitimately rude to me during a game was a few days ago - and it was a Yugioh match (online), not Pokemon. He got annoyed early on in the match when I flipped up a Sakuretsu Armor, and then outright cussed me out when I used the effect of Black Rose Dragon - and neither of those cards are really uncommon. It was awkward. =/

As far as Pokemon goes...whenever a player around here whiffs on something, we feel sympathy for them. Granted, we do what we must to win, but we feel sorry for the other guy. I've been on both the giving and the receiving end of that - Regionals in April 2011 I had both in the same day. (I was running my trademark RegiAwesome deck.) Round 1 I absolutely wreck this guy who was running Sablelock - about T2 or so he Judges me into a godhand and from there on out I swing left and right. He told me he whiffed on supporters for the first few turns and got forced into the Judge, and I felt his pain. Later on in Round 3 I go first with a lone Crobat G start and whiff on a Basic, then proceed to get donked by T1 Rare Candy Kingdra Prime - he felt my pain too.

But hey, all in all, it's part of the game - what are you going to do? All you can do is build your deck to be the best it can be, and then play the best game you can. I'm just thankful to be around a playerbase that is very homely towards one another.
 
A couple of years ago at the Long Beach Regionals on the Queen Mary, my first round opponent was using that Rain Dance Feraligatr deck. I got myself a narrow won (we were both down to 1 prize) using my Raticate deck and defeated his Feraligatr with an Expert Belt-boosted Extend Fang, plus a Buck's Training and 3 Pluspowers (I was saving those 3 specifically for Feraligatr, and it already had 20 damage on it--forgot how). My opponent took the loss very well--he was thrilled to have a match like what I played, and by this point, there were like 12 people gathered around watching. He pounded his hand against the table in frustration, but he had a big smile on his face. I could tell he really liked it.

That's the sort of match I like to bring to tournaments.

That's not all though--at the end of the 7th round, he spotted me again to tell me that he won his subsequent 6 matches and made it to top cut--I was the only opponent who had beaten him up to that point. I'm sure that match would've been something to remember for him. It was something to remember for me, especially the follow-up.

At 2011 Regionals
A junior got kicked out of T4 and started crying. I felt bad for the guy.

THEN Cities this year
This same kid, I think (Ian Robb) starts crying when a judge ruled that he did something that resulted game loss. He has this meltdown and ends up sitting in his mother's lap for roughly 15 minutes.

Again, i felt bad for the guy.
 
That reminds me of the time when I had to issue a Game Loss to some guy in Seniors for playing a 2nd Supporter (an N) in one turn.
It took me 10 minutes to figure out what happened, and another 10 minutes talking to the boy's father (who came up to me later about it) explaining it all out.

Although it was something that had to be done, it is not an experience I care to repeat.
 
Three times in the same game, my opponent had a fully loaded Kyurem up, (I was playing TyRam) and without a PlusPower, I couldn't one shot the Kyurem with my Reshiram. When he got the Kyurem up each time, I drew a card, because it was the start of my turn, and I drew a PlusPower. The guy just got done saying "the only way you can knock me out is if you have a PlusPower..." So I played the PlusPower and killed the Kyurem... Keep in mind that this same exact situation happened THREE times in the same game.

Probably my luckiest game yet.

What happened there? Was the father angry at how his son got penalized?

(I know that teachers get a lot of unnecessary stress and headaches from parents like that. I'd imagine a tournament official in a competition full of kids would have to put up with this kind of parent too.)
 
Last Regional I was against Tyram with my ZPST. So he had like nothing and I was able to bolt strike three times in a row without using Defender once, and still was able to Outrage before being KO'd. He KO's it finally, but of course I had how many turns to set up so I get the last few prizes and win 6-1. He doesn't even really give a hand shake, so I was just like "That was a good game." I think he dropped after that. I understand losing is frustrating, but I at least try and give a hand shake and smile after a game. If I'm upset about a loss, I rant after.

Yup, that's what happened. The senior in question insisted that he didn't play a 2nd Supporter that turn; I had to explain to the parent that, when making a penalty call like that, I don't take either player 100% at their word - apparently he'd thought that I'd been called over and gave the penalty unfairly on the simple basis that his son was the one accused (because it was the opponent that called me over), but I said that I didn't make that decision lightly (and I didn't).

Not gonna go too much into detail there, but that's basically what I told him, and he was satisfied with my explanation. (It was the first time I ever had to give out a Game Loss penalty as the Head Judge; had I a choice I would have gone with something lesser, but unfortunately I could not.)
 
At Nationals 2010, during the Swiss rounds, I faced this kid who was playing something totally noob. Obviously, I beat him 6-0 with Plox. That kid freaked out and started crying. He threw his cards all over the ground and started crying. Then, he started screaming at me, and everyone turned and looked as he stomped away. Weirdest. Match. Ever.
 
I saw someone rip a Luxray GL lv X in half if it counts. He lost in a side event game, and ripped it because of it. :/
 
That kid must be rich. I don't think I've ever known of someone tearing a card because of a match besides Chaos Orb in Magic.
 
about a month???? ago me and my gf were hanging out with some TCG friends. my gf wasnt in the greatest mood and she siad she could beat my gothitelle/ reuniclus deck with her durant deck (which she had just built) i got trainer lock on by the third or fourth turn. i had no use for reuniclus so it was just my gothitelle. i killed her durant and she had two left. with trainer lock she couldent do anything....so she threw her deck aginst the wall, called me a few cuss words and ran out the door....soon after that she siad she was sorry :) lol
 
Awhile back, I was at an event and one of the guys who regularly comes to league got donked and he started swearing and stormed off.

At a Cities event not to long ago, I was in the middle of a match with a guy running this rogue troll deck and after awhile, people started gathering around to watch. After constantly not being able to do anything because of Trainer lock and him hitting heads on Agility, he switched and forced me to deck out. I wouldn't have had a problem had one of the people in the crowd wasn't always trolling me either at league or other tournaments, and I told the TO that I was gonna drop with one round left in the tournament. Not very proud of it, but I was doing horrible anyway.
