In a pre-release game, my opponent and I were down to a single prize card each. I had Parasect (DP) up [with no damage], he had Sandslash (DP). In the previous turn he had attacked with Spike Armor.

[C] Spike Armor
[During your opponet's next turn, if Sandslash is damaged by an oppnent's attack (even if Sandslash is Knoked Out), put 4 damage counters on the Attacking Pokemon]

My question is, if I do Extend Fungus

[G][G][C] Extend Fungus 60

Remove 2 damage counters from Parasect

Do I end up at the end of the turn with 2 or 4 damage counters on my Parasect.

For the record the judge ruled it was 4.

You would heal 2 damage of your parasect, and then spike armor would do 40 do you.

The effect of Parasect's attack happens at the exact same time as the attack.

So it would happen like this,

Parasect attacks ---> Parasect Heals ---> Parasect takes damage

This would be a good "ask the masters" question over on the gym.

Normally players get to choose the order of damage / healing based on the rulings I've seen. For instance:

Q. Say my opponent has Dark Ampharos, and I use Milotic with "Energy Shower". Can I have Energy Shower remove the damage AFTER Dark Ampharos' "Darkest Impulse" places a counter on Milotic?
A. Healing Shower and Darkest Impulse happen at the same time. So the player controlling Milotic would decide which effect to apply first. (Mar 3, 2005 PUI Rules Team)

Based on that I would say that the damage and the healing take place "at the same time" and that the Parasect player would get to choose the order. Normally this would result in 2 damage counters done.

yeah parasect attacks u do the healing which would be 0 then spike armor would come into effect so para would take 4 damage counters.
