Ok, after two playthroughs I gave up on this is one i'm actually going to do. Wedlocke rules:

1: If a pokemon faints, it is dead. It must be released or boxed permanently.
2: You may only catch the first pokemon in an area. If it faints or runs, too bad. No pokemon for that area.
3: Pokemon are paired with those of the opposite gender. Pairs fight together in battles. You can only switch between the two in the pair unless they both die. If one pokemon dies its partner must come out to avenge it or die as well.
4: Genderless pokemon may never be caught.
5:If you have an odd gender ratio in your party, and your encounter on a route would keep it odd.l, ignore it and look for a pokemon with the different gender.

These are the original rules, which I went with to avoid confusion.

I've noticed I find it very hard to write playthroughs as a story, so if this couod be moved that would be great.

Part one! So I begin and name myself Joe, my real name. Nothing fancy here. Starter gets randomised and my first pokemon is Tepig. He's hardy so no weird stats, but not amazing. I later name him tuba. I'll be doing a theme of musical instruments.

Juniper: Here's how to catch pok-

Yeah yeah I know this already. So I get my first ecounter and it iiiiis... patrat. Great. I capture her and name her Xylophone, making our first pair! She's careful and isn't that strong

Tuba-Xylophone

I spend ages grinding Xylophone up, and then buy some potions and fight N, which goes fine. My next ecounter on route 2 is a lillipup! I capture him and name him cello. Fighting bianca goes fine, and then I meet the trainer who seems far too happy to just give away his pansage. Now... it's male. Normally I couldn't get it, but it's a gift pokemon and I can't control it, so but now I have a gender ratio of 3:1, and I have two lone wolves. Anyway, I name him flute.

Tiiime to fight cress. Tuba takes down the lillipup to low health, then he heals and I notice a problem. He's faster than me and has three work ups. There was nothing I could do - Tuba and Xylophone died.

But flute avenged them, taking a tackle with one hp.Wow. Two deaths already. Well, I continued on to the dreamyard, and then fight the plasma grunts-and flute dies to a critical. I know the run's over now, cello is only lvl 4.

So that ended quickly. A lot of people would start over, being so close to the beginning, but I still lost.
Well, that's just how it goes.
