Hello all,
As those who know me well probably know, I'm, a keen collector and enjoy some competition. This being my fourth prerelease, I knew what I was doing. And I came prepared. I even asked a pro for advice on the deck, in other words, [member]carlitosbob[/member].
Plus, I got everything I wanted except for a Full Art. So, I'm very pleased at the outcome.

So, first things first, this was my deck:
2-2-2 Scolipede
2-2 Simipour
2-2-1 Klinklang
2-1 Ferrothorn (Rare)
2-1 Excadrill (non-holo)
1-1-1 Gothitelle (non-ability)
3 Bianca
2 Recycle
1 Catcher
2 {g} Energy
2 {f} Energy
2 {m} Energy
4 {p} Energy
Simple strategy - get the opponent poisoned, confused or asleep quickly and heal with Simipour. Worked very nicely and helped me go 2-1.
First Match - VS Virizion (0-1)
Now, I actually passed that Virizion on to the opponent in our opening system*, so having it defeat me was irritating. A taste of my own unused medicine.
It kept healing itself and gradually took my team down until the opponent had four prizes. Simple enough. And when I got an evolution, Sacred Sword finished me off.
Second Match - VS Poison Mix (2-1)
This was a deck like mine, but a simplified version. It didn't have as many trainers and Stage 2 evolutions: it had something like Gothoritas and Whirlipedes, but no icing on the cake. Despite not getting enough evolutions set up first game and losing due to a lot of unlucky coin flips, we decided at the start that it'd be a best of 3 game even though the others weren't (we had the choice).
So, second game was a face-off with Gothitas. We kept putting each other to sleep. I then retreated for Klang, kept confusing the opponent, whose Pokémon were gradually taken down, and used the combination of Recycle and Klinklang to get a {m} energy back and attack to win the game.
The decider was a long and action-packed game where I stalled with Excadrill whilst preparing Klinklang and Scolipede, and the opponent prepared too until they ran out of cards in their deck and lost. So, I managed to pull that one out of the bag.
Third Match - VS Thundurus/Krookodile (1-0)
This was an awkward game. There was a large amount of rivalry, and when he got up a prepared Thundurus and take 1-2 prizes, I was worried, but I managed to use Catcher to switch it with a benched Joltik (which was eventually evolved). I had a hand deprived of energies after my Venipede with 3 energies on it was knocked out by Thundurus. I put up Excadrill, happy with my matchup, and it turns out that I could have gone untouched by Galvantula including Resistance, and I realised just after Excadrill got knocked out, but the opponent wouldn't let me change things, so they had one prize left and I still had all of them. It looked completely over, but I got up Scolipede and Klinklang, with Klinklang first. I managed to get a load of energies back from the discard pile onto Klinklang whilst killing Galvantula. I then managed to do 30 to Thundurus with Klinklang. Then he was defeated, so I put up Scolipede and managed to get double heads, KOing Thundurus. All he had left at this stage was a Krookodile which failed Black Eyes once, which cost him. After using Double Poison twice, I managed to knock him out and win the match.
Unused pulls/trades at end
-Abilitelle (traded at end) [I wonder if that name will catch on?]
-Crushing Hammer
-RH Cheren
-RH Great Ball
-Tornadus Holo
-RH Cobalion
Pulls I chose not to use
-Both Leavannys
-Whimsicott (rare)
-Krookodile
-Simisear
-Liepard
These were mainly because I couldn't set them up.
Anyway, that was my prerelease. I hope you enjoyed reading and feedback is appreciated!
