Hey there! I've been working with my radicate break Machamp deck and it has been working wonderfully! I was wondering if anyone could help with this new deck I'm building? Here is the list:

Pokemon:
  • 4 Palkia-XY promo
  • 2 Seismitoad EX FFI / Regice AOR
  • 2 Piplup Breakthrough
  • 2 Prinplup Breakthrough
  • 2 Empoleon Breakthrough
  • 2 Manaphy EX Breakpoint
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums:
  • 3 Enhanced Hammer
  • 3 Crushing Hammer
  • 3 Team Flare Grunt
  • 3 VS Seeker
  • 1 Lysandre
  • 2 Professor Sycamore
  • 2 Skyla
  • 2 Shauna
  • 4 Dive Ball
  • 2 Level Ball
  • 2 Professor's Letter
  • 3 Head Ringer
  • 3 Sky Field
Energy:
  • 9 Water Energy
  • 2 Double Colorless Energy
Strategy:

I was thinking that seismitoad is a good pair for palkia, because it helps with an early game lock, and to stall while palkia gets charged, and to provide as a tank/sponge so your palkia doesn't die as much. Another idea is to have regice, to provide the ex block. I was also thinking about bats, but they just seem too clunky. I would love to see what everyone else thinks, and how everyone can help! I appreciate all criticism, and comments so suggest away!

While it seems a bit slow, it feels like it would be an absolutely obnoxious deck to go up against, and wouldn't be a bad idea! I would suggest swapping an enhanced hammer out for a fourth crushing, since enhanced hammers can become a dead card in hand if the opponent isn't playing special energies, but a crushing hammer is always useful. Other than that, since you're running 2 skyla anyway, you could drop 1 head ringer since you've got pretty good access to them, and most decks don't run more than 2 even without that much access to them, and that would give you room for a fourth VS seeker. Also, your bench space doesn't look too tight, so using rough seas instead of sky field would help to keep the damage off of you.

The main problem that I could see this deck encountering is decks that run zoroark, or don't mind retreating for a turn to attach energy. Once a pokemon hits the bench, the effect on that pokemon is removed. A float stone zoroark completely ruins the palkia strategy, but overall it sounds like it would be a fun deck to play around with.
