Recently a PCL-on format has been confirmed for Standard, and will be taking effect on September 1 st. With Phantom Forces rotated, colorless M Rayquaza loses Bronzong (Metal Links), an Aegislash EX. So, My question is what are some other options for M Rayquaza. Thanks ;)

The version with Jolteon-EX has been more popular than the metal version anyway, and that list really only loses Battle Compressor. Other options could include Zoroark or Raichu.

Thanks for the advice, would you mind giving me a link to a Jolteon deck.

i think Jolteon ex may not be the best partner for M Rayquaza ex, for 2 reasons:
1. With the new supporter Pokemon Ranger, basic pokemon has a way to get pass Flash ray
2. the most dominent basic, night march, is rotated out.

So i think Raichu or Zoroark, being non ex attackers, may has better use

Also, the new item special charge may replace time puzzle, for this i am not sure though

Here is the link to the Jolteon-EX / M Rayquaza-EX deck that I based mine off of. You should be looking at the list used by Jose Marrero from the Georgia State Championships.

I agree that Pokemon Ranger will hurt the Jolteon-EX variation of the deck, but it'll still see some play as you're opponent probably won't want to / can't stream it for a couple of turns (assuming they miss the OHKO). However, I do agree that Raichu and Zoroark will probably see more play with M Rayquaza-EX than anything else at the moment.

what about regice? It runs over Darkrai giratina, a dominant deck for next year. (As it loses nothing) Plus, regice is budget friendly.

My only problem with this deck is the loss of sacred ash, at it is rayquaza's main recovery option.

i remember ther's a new supporter call Karen (the elite 4), which allows both player to shuffle all discarded pokemon back into decks. First looks like a counter to NM and queen, but it replace sacred ash well too

It just doesn't feel the same as a supporter though...

Yeah, Karen is going to be a huge help to the deck. Although I'd just rather get the Sacred Ash reprint. I guess Super Rod is an option, too.

Way to go for noticing Rayquaza! It is no doubt a force to be reckoned with next season. You can build either the Jolteon or Glaceon variant at this point, as they are the best at this time. I'd go glaceon, as the biggest weakness to Rayquaza is most likely Raichu, who takes advantage of your sky field, wins in the prize trade, and hits you for weakness.

While it isn't popular by any means, there is the Ancient Trait Altaria that has the ability which negates weakness for all of your colorless Pokemon, that could help against Raichu.

Mega rayquaza loses AZ, a source of many devastating combos. Ninja boy and Olympia are not ideal replacements.

Not to say this deck isn't devastatingly powerful.

Personally, I think Ray is a little overhyped. Yes, it's incredibly powerful and fast, but Raichu and Vileplume are still in format, along with Glaceon and Regice, but Ranger takes care of the last two. The main reason I think it's a little overhyped is Klefki from Steam Seige. It's not an autoloss whatsoever, but it can prevent M Ray from attacking for a turn or two while they set up something else. With the lack of tool disruption in PRC-On, M Ray could struggle if they don't run a back up attacker. I think the best way to play around it is with Raichu because it hits for weakness on M Ray and Yveltal, but it's better than Zoroark because your opponent can control their bench, preventing Zoroark from taking a knockout.

Vileplume will more than likely be a problem for it in the future, but we'll need to wait and see how plume is used post rotation.

As I stated above, if Raichu sees at least some play (which I'm sure it will), then teching in at least a 1-1 AT Altaria line will be a huge help. Plus it would provide more basics in case Sky Field gets bumped.

I have done a lot of testing with M Ray on the PTCGO using only PCL and on. I have found Jolteon-EX to be absolutely necessary in this deck, it handles Giratina-EX Darkrai-EX and Yveltal decks far too well to be taken out of the list, especialy Garitina-EX as it is almost impossible to deal with without it. Another good option is Ninetales just because of how devastating Parallel City is, I have found that this card single handedly cripples me even when playing conservative, this also makes raichu an awful option as it run off the same engine, I just can't find a way around it and Ninetales might not even be good enough with how popular Garbador is going to be, and while experimenting with other attackers I still found Jolteon-EX to be best in these situations as most of the time I am up against basics when its played. If decks like Greninja start running it though M Ray might die off fairly quickly. Another attacker I thought would be good but failed to prove itself useful was Zoroark.

but after steam siege, jolteon ex will be less effective because of pokemon ranger
