Pokémon (16):
  • 4 Fennekin(FC)
  • 2 Braixen(FC)
  • 3 Delphox(FC)
  • 3 Delphox BREAK
  • 2 Entei(AOR 15)
  • 2 Shaymin-EX(ROS)
Trainers/Supporters/Stadiums (34):
  • 3 Sycamore
  • 1 Lysandre
  • 1 Brigette
  • 2 N
  • 2 Battle Compressor
  • 1 Hex Maniac
  • 3 Rare Candy
  • 4 Trainers' Mail
  • 3 Assault Vest
  • 2 Wally
  • 1 Energy Recycler
  • 4 VS Seeker
  • 4 Ultra Ball
  • 3 Scorched Earth
Energy (10):
  • 7 Fire Energy
  • 3 Double Colorless Energy
Strategy:

^ My first idea for a deck inspired by the FC prerelease: Delphox. In order to help it counter Night March, Entei helps it out w/ flame screen and Theta Double + Assault Vest. If Glaceon-EX tries to put it down, beat it to a 160 HP KO of Entei w/ Wally for T2-to-BREAK shenanigans, especially with the aid of an Ability that acts like a half of a Professor's Letter, only that the energy it finds goes directly to the pokemon, rather than to hand... And Shaymin-EX is just... Set-Min(Famous by its set-up ability)...

Anyway, start with Fennekin or Entei, use Brigette to get more Fennekin and find rare candies. If Trevenant/Vileplume come out to ruin your items, Hex Maniac to break the lock, and use Rare Candies before the lock resumes...

^ What do you think? Any suggestions on improvements?

Scorched earth could help improve draw power. While black smith accelerates.

I would suggest dropping chaos tower for 2 scorched earth and 1 black smith.

Drop either 1 or 2 entei or Lugia for another fennikin and Delphox. Leaving it at 4-2-4-3

This deck could probably use 2 black smiths at the least.

Fight Fury Belt is nice for more hp and attack. But it's useless of ur main attacker. If it's mainly for night March. Then assault vest reduces damage from dce by 40 damage for delphox as well.

Hi cardgjammer,

Would consider to remove Lugia Ex and include one more Fenniken and one Delphox XY1. Replace Pokémon Fan Club with Bridgette since the deck would consist mainly on non-Ex Pokémon now and use Scorched Earth instead of Chaos Tower. If you are concerned about status effects you can keep one Chaos Tower but the number of status effect-based decks is limited. Trade Belt for Assault Vest since it can also be used with the Delphox line. Would like to fit in two Blacksmith but have no idea what to take out thus far. Love the deck although it has troubles with item lock and faster decks such as Greninja and Night March.

Very surprised not to see Blacksmith in the list - that card is your best friend for getting energy on the board. I would recommend at least a 3 count. As this uses up your Supporter for the turn however, consider adding an Item-based draw engine and Scorched Earth. The typical cards for consideration are:
  • Acro Bike
  • Trainers' Mail
  • Battle Compressor
The drawback of all of this is A) space; B) conflict with Delphox BREAK which takes energy from the deck, not the discard. Therefore I'd remove the Lugia-EX and lower the Delphox BREAK to 1 - I don't see it as being essential to the strategy, more of a nice to have.

As for your tool cards, I would run Muscle Band over Fighting Fury Belt - as the Muscle Band is useful for all attackers, whereas Fighting Fury Belt would only be utilised by Entei. I would also consider adding a 2 to 3 count of Assault Vest, which gives great protection against Night March (among other DCE-dependant decks).

All in all, a great idea for a deck - nice one!

Blacksmith and muscle band rotate unless they reprint soon.

Thanks for feedback!

Made changes to list. It may look weird w/ the Blacksmith on the projected cutting block, not to mention Delphox XY being on the same block, or at least until the PCS's stateside release, if there is one, which will revive Delphox XY in standard after three weeks post-PCS release, although it may not be official yet, at least we can use patterns to predict what will be rotated out...

Anyway, what do you think of the new list?

I do like the idea of this deck, but I lack a Shaymin-EX ROS, but I want to know, will the Abyssal Hand Octillery line be a good substitute for Shaymin?
