Pidgeot TR... Any ideas?

I don't know why but earlier today I got the strange urge to make a deck focused around Pidgeot. Either focused around it or having it as a back up attacker. I just thought it'd be a cool fun deck. I couldn't really decide what to run with it though. :( Anyone have any ideas as to what cards to pair it with?

You could run him with Donphan, so you can cover his weakness against Zekrom and Magnezone. But I doubt it will be any good, I mean look at the attacks.

The first attack goes very well with Ampharos by slowing down the opponent and damaging them at the same time. Unfortunately, it doesn't affect Yanmega, who is very big in the metagame. But Pidgeot's first attack does give it potential and some nice comboes.

You could also pair it with Smoochum. Against decks that really need energy to run, like ReshiBoar/TyRam, you could cause some havoc by moving all the energy elsewhere, then attacking with Pidgeot.

works great with cinccinco. 3-3 of cin, 3-2-3 pideot and some stanler and if ur going ofr a fun lock deck celebi prime

That post didn't make sense. What synergy does Pidgeot have with Cincinno other than using the same energy? And what does Celebi Prime have to do with it?

Yeah, I really don't see any synergy whatsoever between any of those cards. I guess Celebi is for its attack, so your opponent has to use Basics to knock it out, but that takes a lot of energy...

I think a good starting attacker would be Iglybuff for its attack, so you can start the energy increase early on

^But they can just retreat out of that. So if you're playing Yanmega, Kingdra, etc, it doesn't really do anything. I suppose against Donphan it would be alright, but 1 extra energy won't make a huge difference.

^ Understandable, but they may not be able to retreat out of it, or be unable to use switch... Im Just-sayin

That's true, but it's very dependent on what deck you're playing. And with this much Yanmega in the meta, and Yanmega being basically an auto-loss, I don't see that this deck really has a chance.

Yeah. True. But luckily at the league I go to not a single person plays Yanmega. So Igglybuff would be good. Most people actually play BlastGatr at my league. Hmm.... but at the same time that's also a huge problem cause of Feraligatr. :( I was thinking of putting a Pokemon that discards energy from the opponent as the main attacker with Pidgeot as the backup or like some sort of tech. The only Pokemon that I know of with a decent amount of hp that discards energy is Gyarados. Does anyone know of any others?

You could play Pidgeot with Vileplume from Undaunted so that they cannot use switches, and also puts more pressure by not allowing them to use trainers. You could also throw in Cinccino, Yanmega, or other techs since Pidgeot doesn't require any certain energy.

If only Pidgeot could work against Yanmega....If only more Dragon types are played....

Pidgeot works great with as mentioned before: Smoochum and Ampharos. Also with anything that can discard energies from your opponent's Pokemon. Like Gyarados. Or something that can move it around. A Pokemon with Tail Code.

It's a good staller to say the least. Zekrom will despise it (using 4 energies for Outrage when you only run 1 Shaymin? WHAT?) and Magnezone, Donphan, Reshiplosion, etc would all have their share of the pain. Yanmega is just annoying though......GIVE ME MORE GRASS RESISTANCES!
