if the opponent puts damage counters on pidgeot can you do the same amount of damage back?

Mirror move copies the most recent attack used. It works sort of like Chansey's Metronome attack.:)

No. it do not copies the attack, it copies the damage done by an attack. And since puting damage counters is not counted as damage, you cant do damage.

CC: Mirror Move:
If Pidgeot was damaged by an attack during your opponent's last turn, this attack dose the same amount of damage done to Pidgeot to the Defending Pokemon.

Your Red & your Opponent is May.
Red has: Pidgeot (DP3/SW #35/132)
May has: Luxio (DP1 #52/130)

Lets say May used Luxio's (DP1 #52/130) Thunder Fang (& got tails for the coin toss/flip), which is normaly 30. But due to Red's Pidgeot haveing weakness to electric to +30, it's becomes 60 instead of 30.
Now Red wants to use Mirror Move. Mirror Move only dose the 30 & he flips a coin to see if May's Luxio is Paralyzed.

@LV: It does 60 damage only, Because it said same amount of damage, and no effects.

To gendai's question, no, Pidgeot can't do the same damage.

Q. Can you do Pidgeot's "Mirror Move" attack if the opponent's last attack "placed damage counters" (as opposed to "doing damage")?
A. No. Placing damage counters is an effect. Damage from an attack is the straight-up damage done, such as "40" or "40+30". (Jan 24, 2008 PUI Rules Team)

I hope that this helps in any way.
