So, I woke up, and was pumped up (smash!) for Battle Roads. After driving the hour and a half to get there, my fiancee and I were ready to play. Registration and deck checks went off without a hitch, then a baked potato later (and a couple of games of Cardfight! Vanguard...) the Round 1 pairings were posted. (I was playing Darkrai/Hydreigon)
Round 1 vs. Random Theme deck???
This guy seemed to have a random assortment of cards from starter decks. This guy didn't even do any damage to me... Sorry, guy.

Round 3 vs. Klinkcorners
Now this was the deck I wanted to play against. But, I started with Shaymin EX and six energies. Awesome. Eventually, he had to N, and I got the God of all God hands. Two Deinos, two Rare Candies, and two Hydreigons. I topdecked a Juniper. Woot. This guy knew what to do, he got two Cobalions set up before I could move around energies fully, and so I was stuck, foddering Sableyes. I eventually got an eviolited Shaymin EX and one hit KO'd the rest of his field. (he whiffed on the double heads to knock out Shaymin... :3)

Round 4 vs. Fiancee
She didn't want me to post what she played, but she didn't get anything set up and I beat her. She did get two prizes, despite my best efforts against it. Sorry, babe.

Round 5 vs. Garbodor/Big stuff
I've played this guy before, and he was really nervous to have to play me again, especially for first place. I never hit a single Tool Scrapper the whole game, btw. I started Sableye to his two Trubbishs and a Terrakion EX. I got set up slowly, due to a turn two Ability lock, but I got an eviolited Darkrai hit, then I retreated him so that he would have to catcher him back up and kill it. (that was the fourth Catcher.) Then, I laid down the Shaymin EX. I could tell that he didn't have an answer to the Shaymin because his face went white. He was scared. I attached an energy and Junk Hunted for an Eviolite and a Max Potion. He didn't have a fifth catcher, so he had to knock out my active Sableye with Pump up SMASH
. I promoted Shaymin EX, attached the Blend and Eviolite, and Ko'd his Terrakion EX with Revenge Blast. Three prizes left for me, one for him. He drew, Ultra Balled to see what he had left, looked at his field, and scooped. He had nothing to counter the Shaymin EX.
