Play Points Questions :)

Cities format is going to be wacked.

1. How many points does it take to go to Nats? Are they play or Championship points?

2. How are Play Points earned and how are Championship Points earned?

3. What are the Points you get for competeting at each event?

4. Do you get points from going to your league?

1. 10 play! points. They are play! points, not championship points.

2. Play! points are earned just by competing regularly, championship points are earned by top cutting.

3. IDK. I think it's 2 per BRs, but that's the extent of my knowledge.

4. Depends on the league. I do at mine, but that's not universal.

Expanding on #3, it was 2 for winning Battle Roads, 6 for winning Cities, 10 for States/Regs, and 20 for Nationals and then people after first place got less to a certain cutoff that depended on how many players were in the event. That was last season though. Odds are it will be modified somewhat this season, or a lot of players will be very upset (people argued that Battle Roads was worth too much, maybe Cities too much, Regionals not enough, and that Top 8 at Nationals shouldn't get points since they get an automatic invite. There were various other problems as well, such as there being no difference in points between a States with 150 masters and one with 250 masters). So we'll see what happens. You can find all the more detailed information on pokemon.com (specifically on this page), although it's not updated for the next season yet.

I think he meant how many play! points for competing in each event, not how many Championship points for winning each event.

For #3, you get:

1 P!P per Battle Road
2 P!P per City (I'm not 100% sure on this)
3 P!P per States
5 P!P per Regionals
0 P!P per Nationals/Worlds (not 100% sure either)

Anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. These are 2011-2012 season P!Ps btw.

This really has everything Play Point related. Keep in mind that this was for last year, so I'm not sure if they're going to be changing anything (if anything): http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-news/op_playpoints_faq_2012-2012-02-10/

dmaster out.

Does the Dragons Exalted prerelease count towards 2011-2012 or 2012-2013?

Thanks, that is a great reference. I'm also interested in the answer to Bo$$_89's question. I'm assuming that the 2012-2013 season begins on September 1st, making the DRX prereleases count for the 2011-2012 season. That's just a guess though.

It would probably count toward the 13 season because some juniors/seniors moved up then and they didn't for Worlds.
