Here's my mini-article on the new BW cards! Hope you enjoy it!

First Up is Hahakomori.
003-black.jpg

This card Reads:

Hahakomori – Grass – HP130
Stage 2 – Evolves from Kurumayu

[C] Raise Up: Choose 1 Evolution card that Evolves from 1 of your Pokemon from your deck, and play it on top of that Pokemon to Evolve it. Shuffle your deck afterward.
[G][C] X-Scissor: 30 damage. Flip a coin, if heads this attack does an additional 50 damage.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

I think this card should get some real praise. For 1 {C} you can do a
great attack! It's like Spiritomb's attack. This card isn't Spiritomb, but to pay up for the lack of trainer lock is....

002-black.jpg

This card reads:

Kurumayu – Grass – HP70
Stage 1 – Evolves from Kurumiru

[G] Grass Seclude: This Pokemon recovers 40 HP.
[G][C] Razor Leaf: 20 damage.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

This card evolves into Hahakomori, and look at its "Grass Seclude" attack. It recovers 40 HP for one {G}. What I was thinking, was since Kurumayu evolves into Hahakomori, you could attach a Memory Berry to Hahakomori. Hahakomori already has an impressive 130 HP, and with an attack that heals it for 40 also, that stops Hahakomori's terrible x2{R} weakness!

--------------------------------------------

Next up is....
010-black.jpg

Enbuoh - Fire –HP150
Stage 2 – Evolves from Chaobuu

Ability: Fervid Dance
Choose 1 Fire Energy card from your hand and attach it to one of your Pokemon. This ability can be used any number of times during your turn.

[R][R][C][C] Heat Stamp: 80 damage.

Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 4

This card is pure awesomeness. I can see it being played with Magnezone Prime, Lanturn Prime, and other cards like that. What is good about this card is unlike Feraligatr Prime, you can attach as many {R} energy as you like to any Pokemon, and not just ______ type.
This card also makes a great tank. 150 HP is nothing to mess around with. Combine this with Expert Belt, and you truly have a magnificent tank going one.
What is terrible about this card is it's {C}{C}{C}{C} Retreat cost, but there are plenty of cards like Dodrio UD and Unown Q to tone that down.

-------------------------------------------------
018-black.jpg

This card reads....

Tsunbear – Water – HP130
Stage 1 – Evolves from Kumashun

[W][C][C] Sheer Cold: 50 damage. During your opponent’s next turn, the opponent’s Active Pokemon that was hit by this move can’t use any attacks.
[W][W][C][C] Icicle Drop: 80 damage. This attack’s damage isn’t affected by Resistance.

Weakness: Steel (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 3

This card is good in two ways. Look at it's Sheer cold attack. For 1 DCE and 1 {W}, you can stop your Opponent from attacking. This isn't necessarily good against fast SP decks like Luxchomp, but it's still going to be a good attack on some cards, and when SP Rotates out. It's 130 HP is also to be noted, It's weakness to Scizor Prime and Steelix Prime isn't anything nice. Neither is its {C}{C}{C} Retreat Cost. Like I said with the Retreat cost, Unown Q and Dodrio are good stoppers to that, but Exploud SV is your Key choice for the terrible weakness.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

023-black.jpg

This card reads....

Musharna – Psychic – HP90
Stage 1 – Evolves from Munna

[P] Hypno Beam: 20 damage. The opponent’s Active Pokemon is now Asleep.
[P][P] Dream Eater: 90 damage. If the opponent’s Active Pokemon isn’t Asleep, this attack fails.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

Mmmm..this card looks yummy. As a Machamp counter, that is. Machamp CAN'T one-shot this card. It isn't basic, THANK GOD!
Okay, It's first attack puts Machamp asleep, and it will keep hitting for {P}{P} for 90! That's pretty neat, but the only way I can actually see this being played is as a Machamp counter.

-----------------------------------------------------------

028-black.jpg

Gothruzelle – Psychic – HP130
Stage 2 – Evolves from Gothmiru

Ability: Magic Room
As long as this Pokemon is in the Active position, your opponent can’t play any Goods cards from his or her hand.

[C][C][C] Mad Kinesis: Does 30 damage plus an additional 20 damage times the number of Psychic Energy attached to this Pokemon.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 2

This is probably my favorite card in the whole BW set. It's ability, Magic Room, is trainer lock, but on your opponent, not you. That is really unique to this card. It's attack is mediocre, but I can only see this card being played for trainer lock.

----------------------------------------------

033-black.jpg

Dageki – Fighting – HP90
Basic Pokemon

[F] Low Kick: 20 damage.
[F][F] Forefist Strike: 40 damage.

Weakness: Psychic (x2)
Resistance: none
Retreat: 1

Umbreon Counter, anyone?

-----------------------------------------------

037-black.jpg

Vuljiina – Darkness – HP90
Stage 1 – Evolves from Vulchi

[D] Sneak Attack: Choose 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon that already has damage counters on it, and do 50 damage to that Pokemon.
[D][C][C] Punishment: 40 damage. If your opponent’s Active Pokemon is a Stage 2 Evolved Pokemon, this attack does an additional 60 damage.

Weakness: Lightning (x2)
Resistance: Fighting (-20)
Retreat: 1

As much as this card's name makes me want to puke, I'm still reviewing it, because it's still playable, Okay? Okay.
Oooh, look at somewhat-50 damage-snipe! That's awesome! I'm totally thinking.... Crobat G + ....erm...Vulgiina = a totally almost free snipe! It's only {D} energy to use the attack!
The slops of this card, besides the name, is the weakness. You all know what I'm going to say. Luxray GL Lv.X > Vulgiina. End of story.

--------------------------------------------

049-black.jpg

Crush Hammer
Trainer’s – Goods

Flip a coin, if heads choose 1 Energy attached to your opponent’s Pokemon and discard it.

You can use any number of Goods cards during your turn.

This card is cool, but I imagine it would be better without the flip. Imagine discarding Garchomp C Lv.X 's DCEs!

--------------------------------------------------------

050-black.jpg

Pokemon Communicator
Trainer’s – Goods

Choose 1 Pokemon card from your hand, show it to your opponent, and return it to your deck. If you return a card, choose 1 Pokemon card from your deck, show it to your opponent, and put it in your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.

You can use any number of Goods cards during your turn.

This card is the same as Pokemon Communication. If you want to run more of Pokemon Communication (I wouldnt see why you would, unless you donk) , Run this card along with Pokemon Communication.
This card may also be called Pokemon Communication when It comes out in English, and if that's the case, I take back everything I just said.

-------------------------------------------------------

051-black.jpg

Max Restore
Trainer’s – Goods

Choose 1 of your Pokemon, and restore all of its HP. Then, discard all Energy attached to that Pokemon.

You can use any number of Goods cards during your turn.

If your playing a card like Spiritomb AR that uses no energy for it's main attack, Max Restore is a free heal! You can also combo this card with Unown Return.
This can also be used in Gyrados. What a healer!

-------------------------------------------------------

052-black.jpg

Recycle
Trainer’s – Goods

Flip a coin, if heads choose 1 card from your discard pile, show it to your opponent, and return it to the top of your deck.

You can use any number of Goods cards during your turn.

This card is totally going to be played in lots of decks. The only problem is that its flip. There is so many possibilities with this card! Here are some:
1) Returning DCE to the top of your deck in SP varients!
Garchomp C Lv.X will now get it's fuel faster!

2) Hand Refresh
Horrible Hand? Get out those PONTs using this card!

3) Do I need explain more?
But remember, it's flip :(

----------------------------------------------------------------

003-white.jpg

Jalorda – Grass – HP130
Stage 2 – Evolves from Janobii

Ability: Royal Heal
As long as this Pokemon is in play, in between turns, restore 10 HP to each of your Pokemon.

[G][C] Grass Mixer: 60 damage. Choose any number of Grass Energy attached to your Pokemon, and rearrange it on your Pokemon in any way you like.

Weakness: Fire (x2)
Resistance: Water (-20)
Retreat: 1

The new Nidoqueen. It has an ABILITY!!! So it cannot be prevented with Dialga G Lv.X.
It's attack is okay, too. Same with its retreat.

-------------------------------------------------------
024-white.jpg

Symbolar – Psychic – HP90
Basic Pokemon

[P] Reflect: During your opponent’s next turn, any damage done to this Pokemon by attacks is reduced by 40.
[P][C][C] Telekinesis: Choose 1 of your opponent’s Pokemon and do 50 damage to that Pokemon. This attack’s damage isn’t affected by Weakness or Resistance.

Weakness: Lightning (x2)
Resistance: Fighting (-20)
Retreat: 1

Again, a 50 damage snipe with a Luxray weakness. Need I explain?

--------------------------------------------

033-white.jpg

Warubiaru – Fighting – HP140
Stage 2 – Evolves from Warubiru

[C][C] Torment: 30 damage. Choose 1 of your opponent’s Active Pokemon’s attacks. During your opponent’s next turn, the opponent’s Active Pokemon that was hit by this move can’t use the chosen attack.
[F][F][C][C] Death Roll: 60 damage. If the opponent’s Active Pokemon already has damage counters on it at the time of dealing damage, do an additional 40 damage.

Weakness: Water (x2)
Resistance: Lightning (-20)
Retreat: 3

This card is awesome because of its first attack. For 1 DCE you can prevent a GCX snipe!
You can also prevent Machamp's attack, Spiritomb's attack, etc!

--------------------------------------------

037-white.jpg

Zoroark – Darkness – HP100
Stage 1 Evolution – Evolves from Zorua

[D] Nasty Plot: Choose any 1 card from your deck and put it in your hand. Shuffle your deck afterward.
[C][C] Foul Play: Choose 1 of your opponent’s Active Pokemon’s attacks, and use it as this attack.

Weakness: Fighting (x2)
Resistance: Psychic (-20)
Retreat: 1

Both of this card's attacks are good. You can copy attacks without using the necessary energy cost, and you search for any one card from your deck. How much do you want to bet this card is going to be banned?

---------------------------------------------------------

048-white.jpg

Revive
Trainer’s – Goods

Choose 1 Basic Pokemon from your discard pile, and play it onto your Bench.

You can use any number of Goods cards during your turn.

I can only see this being played in SP. Getting back that discarded Garchomp C or Luxray GL is a nice little treat.

-----------------------------------------

052-white.jpg

Pokemon Catcher
Trainer’s – Goods

Choose 1 of your opponent’s Benched Pokemon, and switch it with his or her Active Pokemon.

You can use any number of Goods cards during your turn.

You'd think this card would be flip. But it is not: Haha!
Now I'm not as scared that I traded my Luxray, Because I could just run 4 of these! They can be used for stalling, or K0-ing that annoying 40HP basic your opponent is setting up. The new Luxray for those who don't want to spend $50.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Thank you for reading my article! There were some other cards I considered putting in, but either
A) They would get sniped too fast

B) They are good, but are not good enough for the modified format.

Thanks Again!

~ FlamingDriscoll09

The card that has Base Alakazam's poke-power + Max revivie=Broken tank. :) play a big sp basic or stage 1 (Wailord triumhant?) Move all damage on your field to Wailord, then Max Revive. wow..you just got Healing Breathed without playing SP lol

@mlouden03

Yes, that's an AMAZING combo, but I didn't list that card because Crobat G + Garchomp C Lv.X equals a free K.O. on that card.

It's stage 2 also, and a stage 2 with 90 HP, as said above, is a free kill for them.

I have 4 other cards with 90 HP in there, but they're all Basic or Stage 1.

~ FD09 Out.

I was actually gonna make this :p

You should write down some good emerging decks (Like Garchomp SV).

Vuljiina is one of my favorite cards in the set. Probably because my favorite card is Honchkrow G, and this is the exact same thing. I'm thinking this with something that prevents BTS and Candies so you can snipe 60 HP basics. Or just a 4 Crobat 4 Turn 4 SSU deck that might even donk. Lux isn't gonna be played anymore when the Catcher hits.

Good job overall. Again, I feel that emerging decks would be a nice thing to include.

Why? Gyarados's attack takes no energy. Just don't attach Rescue Energy until it's about to be knocked out.

@glaceon

I didn't say anything bad about that. I said that It works with Gyrados, and I'll update this thread with that :D

Enbouh Is a better version of feraligator prime because of its health and its stage one's health both bieng higher than feraligator prime

Does anyone think Revive could be useful in Gyarados? After it's knocked out, Revive, BTS, Gyarados is back again.

^Haha. Now you can choose to either run Recycle Energy or Max Restore+Revive. Then use Junk Arm to get your Max Restore or Revive back. :D I thought Gyarados was strong enough. With this combo it may become meta.

I disagree with some things in here.
Hahakomori is just awful to run, imo. A Stage 2 tech that has to be active that does the same thing Spiritomb can for an extra energy and no trainer lock isn't worth the extra 70 HP. And attaching a Memory Berry is just another card you have to run and recovering 40 HP per turn while not being able to use the first attack isn't going to gain you anything.
Musharna has less than a 25% chance of hitting for 90 the second turn (has to get two flips and the opponnent not wanting to retreat/switch to another Pokémon). It's not worth it as a Stage 1.
Dageki needs fighting energy to use it, so it's not great. 2 energy for 80 damage doesn't even get the OHKO.
As for Jalorda, I'm not sure about it not being stopped by DGX. There's been some talk of errattas going into place so that it stops Abilities, too.
Symbolar does 50 for PCC, which isn't enough to KO much. On the other hand, it has only 90 HP and will be KO'd pretty fast.
Zoruark isn't THAT good. Against GCX, it's not prepared for recovering DCE. Against Scizor Prime, it hits for 30. Against Magneone Prime, it's not intended to LZ energy. Against VileGar, good luck getting lots of damage with the second attack against a deck that runs a fairly small amount of T/S/S. Against Jumpluff, it's doing the same while not swarming, so it's worse. It has some good matchups, but not using cards that help the attacks it uses hurts a lot.

Why run REVIVE in Gyarados when you have RESCUE?
In fact...
Why run revive in anything as long as we have rescue?

I kind of disagree with this lost. First up is Goth Girl. Yeah, it has a great Body and awesome artwork. But it has to be Active, and its attack sucks. Not worth the Body if you can't do the damage, IMO. If you are willing to play Hahakomori, then you need to evolve it. I'd rather run Spiritomb to evolve my Pokemon and lock Trainers than having to evolve into a Stage-2 to evolve my Pokemon. Hahakomori already has a terrible second attack, so its pre-vo doesn't help either.

Crush Hammer the DCE? Against other decks, then yes. Against Garchomp C, they'll discard the DCE for Dragon Rush.

@ Lou Cypher, dude, really? If you use Max Restore, your obviously not going to attach any Rescue Energy. That's why you run Revive, not Rescue Energy.

Pokemon Rescue and Revive are basically the same thing anyway. Really I guess you could choose Revive or Rescue Energy, but I still perfer Revive.

Pokemon Rescue/Rescue Energy >>>>>> Revive

Pokemon Rescue puts the Pokemon into your hand. That lets me reuse Giratina, Uxie, Mesprit, etc. It can also get me a Stage-1/2/Lv.X/LEGEND. If I wanted to play a Basic Pokemon from Pokemon Rescue, I'd make sure I have the Bench space.

For Rescue Energy, it brings the whole Pokemon line back into my hand, not just the Basic Pokemon. It also provides Energy.
