How exactly does Cradily's Lifesplosion attack work? What's the ruling on it?
The way I see it is, you pretty much place a stage 2 on your bench, skipping the evolve steps.

Now let's say that is how it works, if I had Cradily as my active with a grass energy and a DCE attached, and I attacked with Lifesplosion, would I search out 3 stage 2's and place them on my bench?

You are correct. So long as you have the available bench space. In the case where you have more attached energies than bench space, you would search for as many as you have bench space

Ok, here's another question. I tried figuring it out myself, but I'm not 100% on it. Would those stage 2 pokemon count as evolved pokemon? Technically they weren't evolved from previous stages, but they are stage 2. Any insight on this?

PokePop over at the Gym said "They are treated as unevolved Stage 2s. Anything that affects "Basic Pokemon" does not affect them."
