Ruling Pluspower and confusion

Well if you're confused you would have to flip and only if heads you could attack. Now lets say im fighting against a lucario with 90 hp and im confused. My attack does 80 damage so i put down a pluspower to OHKO it. I flip, get tail and i do 30 damage to myself. Now is my pluspower forfeited? Does the same effect work on strength charm?
 
Umm.. Confusion damage is always "place 3 damage counters".. And pluspower must be discarded at the end of your turn whether you attacked or not
