BW/BW2 PMD: Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth

Hi ladies and gentleman, Wade here. I'm wondering who's excited for the new PMD game, and who enjoyed the first two from the series.

The new game, Magnagate and the Infinite Labyrinth, has full 3D. And none of that half-baked stuff we saw in the early GameCube games. Another major concept it has added is scanning. You have to find objects in the real world with your 3DS camera to unlock new dungeons. Another new mechanic is that this game will have outside areas in dungeons- in other words it is even easier to avoid enemy pokemon. Finally, it will be possible for everyone in your party to attack at once. That will be great.

Personally? I'm kind of skeptic about the 3D set-up, I really liked the style of the first two-and will probably miss it even if this turns out to be better. And it sounds like the Magnagate portals won't be as great as I'd hope because the The graphics has truly made huge leaps for the pokemon handheld games though, either way. Maganate dungeons only seem to allow you to use out of 5 pre-chosen starter pokemon, not your own. But the good news is after fighting through the dungeon, you get to keep all items and cash obtained. Plus, it might be nice to play a different main once in a while. Plus plus, I get to go buy a 3DS to utilize the camera function and all of this other jazz. Don't worry, I'm dying of excitement on the inside.

PMD games, in my opinion, has had better plot, music, art, and game play throughout than the main pokemon series. What do you guys think, though? Are you fellow explorer-geek? Thoughts on the new game and old ones? What do you think about the lack of PMD-love around here and well most forums (from my "skimming.")

I very much enjoyed PMD2's dark plot, and from what I've heard, I think I'll enjoy this too. Pretty much the biggest flaw in this game is the lack of Pokemon available, so I think that's going to put a lot of people off.

I enjoyed the second PMD; never played the first one. I agree that they seem to have a lot of storyline, although bw2 have done a lot better job at expanding on the story. The only thing I didn't like is you couldn't evolve your character you chose at the beginning or your main partner until after the main story is over.

To be fair, I don't think we've ever gotten a BW2 style sequel from the Mystery Dungeon series. But then again, I've only played PMD2 so far.
