Ruling Po Town vs Energy Evolution Eevee

I was thinking since Po Town says "When you play a card from your hand to evolve one of your Pokemon" and not "When you play a Pokemon from your hand to evolve one of your Pokemon" that Energy Evolution would activate it, but I'm not sure. I know Po Town hasn't come out yet and there probably won't be an official ruling for a long time but do you guys think Energy Evolution would activate Po Town?

We won't know until the card comes out but effects like this have normally been when you play a Pokemon from the hand and Energy Evolution gets the card from the deck and not the hand.

You play a card to activate an ability. That is the step that you are missing.
 
We can't give an official ruling until the card has been released in English. Exact wording is crucial to giving an accurate ruling, and even a small thing such as "card" vs "a Pokémon" can make a major difference in how a card works. In the case of Energy Evolution, the card you are playing is a Basic Energy, which does not evolve a Pokémon -- activating Energy Evolution is a separate effect (using an Ability) which is triggered by attaching an Energy, but they are two separate actions.
