Poison Types

I've noticed for a few sets that Pokemon like both Nidoran's, Nidorina, Nidorino, Nidoqueen, Grimer, etc., have been Psychic types. Is that the new way of putting the card type as Poison?

with the TCG mechanics and the VG mechanics, the card creators wanted to keep some similarities...Poison pokemon are weak to Psychic attacks, so to convey that in the TCG, they made it so that Psychic pokemon are generally weak to Psychic, this was established really early on in the TCG, and has kinda remained the same since

Yeah, but they have a different weakness. They may look like a different type, but the TCG makers were smart enough to give them differences on weaknesses and resistances.

I think:
Grass and Bug should keep the Leaf.
Fighting should keep the Fighting.
Psychic and Ghost should keep the Psychic.
Thunder...obviously
Water should keep the Water.
Fire, Steel, Darkness, Normal, I think you get the idea.

Ice should be like an Icicle.
Poison should be a Skull...kind of eerie though.
Ground should have a Mountain.
Rock should have a Boulder.
Flying and Dragon should have like a Wing.

Actually, Nick15, Fangking Omega, and I made custom type (READ: types not found in the TCG) card blanks for fake cards back in the day. Bug was a light green w/ a bug symbol, ghost was a gray-purple w/ a claw, ice was a light blue w/ a snoflake, poison was a bluish, sickly green w/ a skull, ground was a yellowish brown w/ a circle with lines crossing through (like longitude/latitude), rock was reddish-tan w/ a mountain peak, flying was gray w/ a feather, and the dragon blank went through many color revisions. They're fun to dig up for nostalgia and the cool factor.

But yeah, that's how poison types are now. Not really a fan.

Poison does not deserve its own type in the card games. It is an awful attacking type in the actual video games and would bring nothing new to the cards.

There would be too many types then. They put into 9 types so it doesn't get so confusing.
