Ruling Poké-Power or Tool – Which One Takes Effect?

Hi guys!

This time I have difficult problem to solve… let's kick it!
I have Dusknoir Lv. X as active Pokémon with Rescue Scarf attached. My opponent takes his turn and he kills that Dusknoir with whatever attack. Now, that's a problem: what takes it's effect first? Rescue Scarfs effect of rescuing all Pokémon (Duskull, Dusclops, Dusknoir AND Dusknoir Lv. X) OR Dusknoir Lv. X's Poké-Power? If the second one is correct, then, mayyou still rescue the others by Rescue Scarf?

The player who has the dusknoir decides. Both trigger at the same time, but the power would discard the tool, and therefore stop the rescue effect. So, player's choice of power or tool. Not both.
