Okay, so I've noticed Booster Drafts becoming more and more popular in the last few months; perhaps as a result of the popularity of them for Magic The Gathering players. I haven't noticed a thread about Booster Draft tournaments on here, so I decided to make this thread.
Anyways, I thought it would be interesting to discuss strategy and preferences for Booster Drafts: which format (Rochester or Concealed), whether trading is allowed or not, what you consider when making your picks, and what strategy you use in general (forcing/biasing, defensive drafting, etc.).
So, to start off discussion, what type of Draft do you like more? Rochester or Concealed?

I'm a fan of the Rochester draft and personally can't wait for the Japanese Base Set Draft at Nationals this year being held by Jason Klazcynzki. The drafts that he's been doing have all been retro drafts, Shadowless Base, Jungle, Fossil, Japanese Base, and soon Gym Heroes/Gym Leaders. As for me thats the type I like, the retro card drafts. But any draft can really be fun I do believe.

Oh man. Unfortunately, I've never had the chance to experience a booster draft, so I only vaguely know what the Rochester and Concealed drafts are. I hope to go to one at Nats this year. Also, retro drafts sound SOOOOOO good. About the topic, I'm gonna say concealed, because I'm pretty big on strategy, but I don't think I really know enough about either to have a fair opinion. I'm done.

Rochester involves alot of strategy as well. Also I guess its semi-concealed because no one else knows what card you chose out of the pack. If I was able to make it to nats this year (more than likely wont) I'd definately look into holding a Draft of my own, definately something retro also. Been thinking about holding one for some time now, but not many people seem to be as enthusiastic about retro cards as I do
