We've all loved the Pokemon Conquest. It was a revolutionary way to play Pokemon and it had tons of content, including a decent story, lots of cool Pokemon, great Legendaries (Black Quay-quay? Are you for real? :p) and amazingly long post game content (Plus it had free DLC). (My original play-through until 100% was 178 hours).

Recently, we saw the Japanese release of the "latest" Fire Emblem game called Fire Emblem If (or Fates for western audiences). Undeniably, (I've played both series) because the game engine is pretty much similar, I looked back at when Conquest was released. And it got me thinking... Could this awesome game hit the 3DS? Imagine Pokemon Conquest with Fire Emblem graphics! 2D sprites in 3D, more mechanics like 2-3 moves, more Pokemon by trainer and many many more... ^.^

I'm optimistic about this :D ... This sounds hopeful, although it was stated a couple of years ago:

"Tecmo Koei’s Executive Vice President Hisashi Koinuma answering a fan's question on Twitter regarding a possible Pokémon Conquest sequel:

Well, there was a lot of unfinished material for Pokémon Conquest…"

So... Will we ever see it happening? It's almost 3 years since the original and we've already entered the "sequel-announcing-period." What's your opinion and what "new" mechanics would you like to see?

Pokémon Conquest, like PMD, was one of those games that I really liked the idea of in theory but got super bored playing in practice. I've managed to get back into PMD, and I hope to give Pokémon Conquest another attempt soon as well, to give it a second chance (I still love my Mitsuhide & Articuno statue, regardless). Unfortunately, because it's been so long, and because I have the memory of a goldfish, I hardly remember anything about the game itself. :p

The biggest thing that Pokémon Conquest seems to have accomplished was (re)introducing the Nobunaga's Ambition series to a larger audience in the West. Because it's a crossover, though, I'm not sure how likely it is that we'll see another entry into the series, but you can always pick up some of the other NA games in the meantime, I suppose. :D I wouldn't be adverse to seeing a sequel myself, since I do really like the concept behind it, but until I replay it and pass judgment, I'm not sure if I would get it again.

I'm always for diversity, namely when it's about Pokémon games. I haven't played Conquest but I'd like to see a number II. Back in the first game, I didn't liked to see so many characters with so many traits from certain Pokémon. I'd prefer if they had a type and then were build around it than just a Pokémon. Secondly, since I'd like to see monarchies and kingdoms explored in Pokémon, I'd like to see a game with a Middle Ages setting. Another option would be to have Kalos' past war and Isshu's sibling war explained and played in such games!
I think they should make two versions, one for the 3DS and another for the WiiU. As a player of Rome and Medieval II Total War, I'd like the option to turn my castle into a city and vice-versa, have a resources system, be able to customise my main castle.

I was so amazed by Pokemon Conquest that it was the 1st reason I tested out FE:A (The gameplay is almost identical). :p Remember when it was announced back in December of 2011? We were all expecting Pokemon Grey and out of nowhere we got this spinoff! >.> Truth to be told, while the announcement was being prepared, I was thinking of how Pokemon as a whole could improve and I thought of a game in which you could move Pokemon in a large battlefield instead of the classic RPG engine... My jaw dropped to the floor when I heard about it. Honestly, at first it looked weird (it had all those crazy manga characters...), but when I heard that the game engine was just like I imagined it the day before, I was like "Thank you Universe!"... o . O And that was a "true story!"

Uhm... the game doesn't quite work like that :p Every character has a "type" from which there are 2x Pokemon he can 100% link (= sth like leveling it up to 100lv.) and other either 95% or lower depending on the Pokemon (= which means that they will stop growing in power -or leveling up- after a while). But characters can chose a lot of Pokemon, but some will undeniably become stronger than others. But in the end of the game there are mostly legendaries ;) At least I had a full team of them ^.^

That idea of yours is a great one! These would be 2 great stories to relate and would be tons of fun to explore. Also that would be the "missing link" in the XY or BW saga, since it's different to hear a story from becoming part of it :) LOL the mechanic you described is pretty much in the newest Fire Emblem game and called: "My Castle" I wouldn't mind if it was in PC2 though. But having one of my "hall of fame" games doubled with great stories in two different consoles? Ho-ho... o_O Take my money now Nintendo! :p

What I meant was that in terms of look and appearence, some characters had clothes that looked like certain Pokémon's skins. Hence why I've said that the characters should have a specific type but have their clothes with patterns and inspiration from the whole type, not just a certain Pokémon. For example, I remember seeing a guy whose clothes had a lot of Oshawott's line elements on it and it seemed like they were "slaves" or fashion victims of Pokémon. It would be nice to have in it's place a Water type guy with a shell pattern from Shelder, a Starmie necklace but without too much accessories or it would end up being a fashion victim. What I mean is that most of the characters had too many details that didn't made them look like warriors.

Yeah, that's why I mentioned it! I saw the trailer from E3 but I didn't understood if the inside was customisable. I wish it was because if secret bases were fun, imagine having a castle decorated by us, from the number of towers that would increase as the castle as a whole (people and trade) would increase to the shops in it and so on. In Rome Total War the player could see their towns in the battle map so we could wander in the town and watch people walking and the buildings from the outside, so imagine also seeing that but even further with the possibility of walking amongst them! Pokémon Conquest with elements of Animal Crossing, XY cloths system expanded and so on.

Well I guess that's true. But they can have multiple Pokemon... :p Like hmmm Nobunaga can have 100% with Hydreigon + Zekrom + Rayquaza (Shiny!) ^.^ But some of the characters were indeed messed up... But I didn't mind :p

If you're talking about Fire Emblem If/Fates then it is 100% customisable. The developers even said that the "My Castle" feature could stand on its own like game! I don't know much on purpose, because I don't want to spoil myself anything, but from the least I know is that it has a tons of features like where to place buildings, farms, customise your units and yourself... and more ^.^ I believe you just described the probably most awesome Pokemon game (again personally speaking). Pokemon with challenging tactics and strategy with the touch of a personal element... Unfortunately... for now... it remains a dream... :/

I would love a Pokemon Conquest 2, but I don't see it happening anytime soon. Nintendo wants to promote the Fire Emblem series now that Awakening has officially re-established the series. When people finish Fates/IF Nintendo wants them to buy the 2nd or 3rd campaign instead of jumping to another game in that genre. There is also demand for a new 'Advance' Wars, which being it's own IP should have more priority than a Pokemon spin-off.

However I believe there is a chance we could see Pokemon Conquest make its way to the Wii U virtual console. This would be a good move because of the lack of Pokemon content on the Wii U and could catch people's attention that missed it when it was originally released.
