Set Facts/Questions​

So, What Are Pokémon Parent?
Parent Pokémon are the super-rare cards that I'll have in this set. They work like Pokémon SP; they are Basic Pokémon. They are depicted with an artwork containing the Pokémon Parent itself, along with a "child" which is a Basic or St. 1 Pokémon from the same evolution chain. Pokémon Parent cards will have a Poké-Body or a Poké-Power which will affect the Pokemon from the same evolution chain, or the mutual type.

Some design information?
  • I'll use EX-era blanks
  • Awkwardly enough, I'll use HGSS Symbols to go with them
  • Will find the art on deviantArt, always will use them with permission!
  • Always will write the text by myself.

What will be the set symbol and why?

I've selected the Sun because it is the "parent" of the energy we need to survive, and the parent of the life on earth. :)

Woah -- totally ninja'd on that one.

Interesting idea, Berquet. Though not EX card symbols, the HGSS ones you used strangely seem to fit, but I'd suggest shrinking the Resistance symbol.

If you are talking about the regular playing cards, I've decided to give up on them for now, because I found hard to illustrate cards from scratch, and I liked the idea of parent pokemon :)

How about EX: Parent, since you're doing Parent Pokemon. Also, on EX cards, it shouldn't be HP140, it should be 140 HP. And I love Charizard.

Thanks for the comment! I use EX-era blanks but I use HGSS symbols, so I'll leave it HP140, just to be a lil' more different and creative :) also, EX: Parent was the first name that I thought too! I just feel that I want to give it a little more thought, because like I said, I don't want this to be an EX-era set, and I don't want to produce new blanks, because I want them to look like regular cards :) See, I can't stop thinking about the name! Oh man..

EDIT: TEASER 3 will be a Trainer Card, and I am planning to finish the card list by Monday :)

I really like that Charizard card! It looks like it could be real if a few things were fixed. The evolution frame is a little chopped up and the wording in the Poke-Power could be tweaked a bit. The "O" in "Opponent's" and "D" in "Deck" don't need to be capitalized. I would also scrap "as it's yours".

I like the concept of Parent Pokemon. :)

UPDATE! Full card list released, and 3 name suggestions for the set as a poll. Please do NOT hesitate to cast a vote, or recommend another name by replying!

Also, since the cardlist is ready, I won't be making the TEASER 3 card.

The card making time starts tomorrow (hopefully) and I'll post random cards from the set each day!!

Thats great! The attack reminds me of Mamoswine, and its perfect for a "parent" card.
