Event Torchic and a Blazikenite?

I recently recieved an e-mail from Nintendo, stating that from October 12th, along with the game, you can get a free Torchic via Pokemon Network. This Torchic will have the hidden ability, Speed Boost, as well as holding a Blazikenite (the item used to Mega Evolve, Blaziken). This makes the event extremely valuable, as the only way to evolve Blaziken into a Mega Blaziken is with the Blazikenite. And the Blazikenite can only be found through this event.

I for one, will be getting the valuable event, and will most likely be using Torchic throughout my adventure.

I also think Nintendo did this to encourage the purchase of the software 'PokeBank'. As this is a limited offer, restarting the game, would delete the Blaziken permanently. With PokeBank, you can store your Blaziken, still holding the item on the internet, ready to be placed into the freshly restarted game.

Are you going to take up the one-time offer? What do you think of Nintendo making Mega-Blaziken only available through an event?
 
I have the Torchic. If only they'd do wifi events of Pokémon you need to trade to get. :/

I CAN'T trade. I can connect to the internet, but not with other users, unless it's local.
Which is a huge pain, because it means I'm stuck with Garden Vivillion. :/
 
I have been hearing about people not being able to trade or battle ? What is this ?. I have traded and battled with people from Japan, South Korean, US and France so far.

I'd say that some don't have a good enough internet connection to trade throughout the world. I personally cannot trade or battle with people unless it is night (internet drops out so often throughout the day) unless it is in Australia, where it seems to flow easier and the connection is better.
 
Apparently the UK has the worst internet speed, because a lot of people use it in such a small location.
 
I got my Torchic. Managed to get one with 30-31 IVs in attack with a jolly nature (also has 20-29 IVs in defence and SP defence I think). Not the best but I can't be asked SR for a better one. It's difficult enough SR for the right nature, let alone the right nature and 30-31 IVs in one of the important stats.

Because the server used to get online on the 3DS is different to the server used to add and interact with Friends.
 
Does anyone know if it can be female? I've done a fair amount of SRing, with no luck but I'm still curious if they stuck a gender lock on the event. If it can, I'm definitely saving one until I know if I need to wait for gen 6 event RNG to be supported or if I could just SR for a female.

The Torchic only comes male sadly.
 
Alright. Just means I have to wait for RNG reporter to be updated before I pick up my torchic on my other game. I simply wanted to be sure since this was a Wonder Card based event (which doesn't always have a gender lock) as opposed to the gen 5 version that was through Entralink, which required gender to be specified. Regular Blazikens should still mega evolve, so in that way egg moves aren't totally incompatible with Speed Boost.

What do you mean ?, I don't know what the internet is compared to other countries.

I have pretty average internet, but I managed to trade and battle fine. I also downloaded the event Pokémon fast.

Merged Vincent's thread with the old one since they cover basically the same thing. I will probably start a list of events in the op later.
 
Do we have people here with events from other regions like Japan and Europe? If so which member(s) have these events for us to trade for? There is a Japanese Garchomp and a few other events we cannot get unless someone from that area region puts them up for trade.:)
