BW/BW2 PokéTransfer and Nintendo DS issue

Hi.
In every pokémon (fan or official) site I visit, they say that to use the PokéTransfer, you need Black or White and a 4th gen game (obviously) and 2 DS Systems. Nothing else.
But I've been reading some comments on youtube where people say that you need at least 1 DSi and you have to put the 4th gen game in the DSi because the DS Download play on DS lite doesn't work or something like that (I don't remember exactly what's the problem).
So, I would like to know if that's true or if I can use 2 DS lites anyway.

btw, I also would to know if I can use the PokéTransfer with a DS (lite or DSi) and a 3DS.

You need any DS with DS Download Play (all of them).

No real problems for me and i have used it twice. The second time they couldn't connect or something but that was just a game pack glitch.

I always use PokeTransfer with two DS Lites, and it works perfectly fine. You can use two DS lites.

You can use it with any DS with Download Play. I did it with my DS Lite and my friend's DSi XL. To test it even further, you could even use the 3DS and DS Lite!
