Here you can discuss pokemon card art or just pokemon art that you like (also please post a scan so other people who have not seen the card(s) will know what your talking about). I'll begin. One of my favorite card arts has always been Gengar from SF and Jumpluff from HGSS, about a few years back when I was starting to get good at the game I had a deck called GarPluff, it actually won me quite a few games and I had alot of fun with it. (but I later tore the deck apart a few months after I built it to build a different deck) As you can probably tell by the name it was based on Gengar SF an Jumpluff HGSS. I always liked to hold the Gengar in my left hand and Jumpluff in my right hand then put them side by side and look at how the artwork looked good next to each other.

Well, I've always liked Hikaru Koike's artwork on ex cards. Some examples are here. It's always been my favorite. I love how they show the darker sides of the Pokemon, and how the dark and light points of the Pokemon contrast so well. It really shows what Pokemon are, not just Pokemon, but Pocket Monsters. They're eerie and mysterious, and…
It's hard to explain my love for his artwork.

I really don't like many of the Primes for art. I like the sillier side sometimes, though; like the derpygatr promo, or gyarados CL aka "mr. Fish".

I can't link since I'm on an iPod, but I like anything by Shizurow (Spiritomb Tr, most LVX cards) or Milky Isobe (Alphs and energies). I'm also obsessed with Sugimori and Midori Harada's art. My favourite of all time probably has to be... Dusknoir SF 17/100 or Magnezone SF 5/100. SF was a strong set for art, including Gigas X.

I like the clay dolls (ha! not claydol lol) because it's something different....not the average picture. I also like rescue energy's artwork and gyarados SF + SP (PL)....I really like that pokemon's look....I also like the CL gyarados just because it finally has a closed mouth.

I hate the clay dolls. <_< It just ruined the unity of "illustrations" as they're photos.
And I also HATE Ken Sugimori's stock images. I was so glad for the HGSS series they stopped after the first one.
I loved that they stuck with the same illustrators for each Pokemon family for the series though.
I was disappointed that they stopped doing that for the BW series.

Just to name some, I really like sui and Kagemaru Himeno's newer artwork.

I gotta say my favourite is anything that comes from Ken Sugimori, I really like some of the other art, but his IMO is the best.

hahaha I love how he's not only floating in space, but also half his body is non-existent. and the gengar one you posted a couple posts before does kinda stink....I kinda like how it kinda looks like a painted wooden carving, but he's a ghost....ghosts don't have shadows. they ARE shadows lol
