BW/BW2 Pokemon Company Incorrectly States Release Dates

I just went to my Gamestop to pick up my copy of Pokepark 2: Beyond The World that I had pre-ordered. The people who worked at Gamestop said the game was supposed to be released tomorrow, February 28th, and that there were commercials that showed the wrong release date. Pokemon.com even says that the game is in stores now, but Gamestop says they'll be fined if the sell the game today (February 27th).
This also happened to me with Pokemon Rumble Blast, which was supposed to be released on October 24th, but was not available until October 25th.
The workers at Gamestop said that many people had come for Pokepark 2 today, so I know it wasn't just me. I've also heard of others with the same problem with Pokemon Rumble Blast.

Has this happened to you, or is it just my Gamestop?

For unknown reasons, Gamestop usually releases games 1 day later than release date.

It's not just you.

It should be the 28th. New movies and games normally come out on Tuesday, not Monday.

Depending on how popular the game is in the area, they will normally do a midnight release the night before(tonight)

Do you know if places like Best Buy and Walmart were also not stocking it today? Definitively, Gamestop puts far less focus on Monday releases, and they end up available Tuesday.

I was never told to stock it and I worked in Electronics at Walmart last night.

I had to put out the game last night. The box it was in was clearly marked "Do not sell before 02 / 28 / 2012".

Hello,

Today, a friend of mine tried to pick up a copy of PokePark 2 at GameStop, but was told that it wouldn't be in until Tuesday. Is there an official word on why these little hiccups happen with almost every Monday release?

I know this isn't entirely Nintendo related, but it seems to happen a lot with middle profile releases, Nintendo published or not.

Thanks in advance,

Hello,

I'm sorry to hear about the frustration your friend ran into in locating Pokepark 2: PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond. I can confirm the game was officially released on Monday, but there are a lot of factors in trying to distribute nationwide and we work with our retail partners to do our best to make sure it's on the shelves when you're looking for it. The reasons behind a delay like he found can be anything from weather related to differences in retailer procedures.

Odd that the boxes were marked that.

I think this is the main reason. I've had problems with Gamestop in things not just Pokemon-related; when I went to get Starforce 3 (which I'd pre-ordered), I couldn't get it from Gamestop until July 1st, even though the release date was June 30th.

It's happened to me before and not just at Gamestop. Pokemon Ranger Shadows of Almia, Pokemon Mystery Dungeon Explorers of Sky, and Pokemon Ranger Guardian Signs. Best Buy told me that Mystery Dungeon Sky was supposed to be released on October 12th 2009. But it didn't come in until the next day, Tuesday. The same thing happened next October with Guardian Signs. I've only experienced this with spin-off Pokemon Games, as the main series Pokemon Games are always released on schedule. On those specific Sundays.

This is very strange, I have never had this problem before when it comes to picking up games at Gamestop so it must have been the Pokemon Company's fault. Although this has happened to me before when it comes to Pokemon Wi-fi events at Gamestop. I'll have to look out for this when going to pick up a game.

This is nothing new. Any time I went into to purchase a game from Gamestop, Walmart, or Best Buy on the day of the release, I was told to come back tomorrow due to how they were ordered not to shelf the product until the day after the release. There were only two occasions on which I actually got games on the day of the release from said retailers, though; the first being with the Pokemon Emerald release, and the other being the Pokemon Diamond/Pearl one (supposedly it had to do with those titles being more hotly anticipated than others...or at least that's what I was told). In any case, when it comes to purchasing/pre-ordering the games in-store, be patient since one-day delays like this are almost always sure to occur.

I've never had a problem picking up games on release date from Gamestop. I've always been able to go in and get it the day of.

^this

When I went to my local Gamestop a few days ago, they even had a sign up that said Pokepark 2 was being released on Feb. 27. Of course, different stores could have different procedures, so...
