This is my second Fan-fic. I hope you like it.
Chapter 1: Trainer School
Jerick walked down the dark hall. At the end was a cold metal door. He reached for it. Before he touched the handle a face appeared right infront of him. With a shout he stumbled back. It was only a Haunter. Yet again he reached for the handle. He touched its cool surface. It turned easily. When he pulled it open it revealed-
SCRAWK! SCRAWK!
His Murkrow alarm clock went off. He knocked it off his nightstand. That was the tenth time he had that dream and he never got to see past the door each time. If he was constantly having this dream it must be important. he heard the clock's batteries roll across the floor. He was 13 years old.
His partner, Cal woke up in the next bed. "Man..." he moaned," why do we have to get up so early every day, it's not like its military school or anything."
"You could almost call it one," joked Jerick. They both laughed. Trainer school was intense. Everyday they woke up at 4 in the morning. After that they would go to their teacher and learn until 7. Then they would have a half hour breakfast break. After that they would learn for several hours and you get the idea, right?
Even though it was school it wasn't as boring. Not even close. their first class was though. It was just a lecture on pokemon and their movesand stuff like that. Today they learned about Combee and Vespiquen.
After a breakfast of waffles and cereal they headed outside for battle class. After the teacher, Mr. Zelandod, gave a quick lecture everyone rushed to the pokeball cart. Jerick and Cal were the first ones to get their pokeballs.
Today was a true double battle tournament. Since this was thier last week of Trainer School the prize was first pick on pokemon. Nobody knew what was in each pokeball so it was completely randomized.
Jerick and Cal decided to see what two pokemon they got.
"Ready," said Cal,"get set, GO!"
Two pokemon were released from their pokeballs. Cal's was Digglet and Jerick's was Taillow. Yes! thought Jerick, These two will go good together.
"The first battle today will be..." anounced Mr. Zelandod "...will be Cal and Jerick versus Ben and Garis."
Jerick looked over at the pair they were against. They had an Electrike and Oddish. This was going to be a pretty fair battle.
Chapter 2: And the Winner is...
The two sets of battlers walked up to the battle field on opposing sides.
"Let the battle...Begin!" announced Mr. Zelandod.
"Diglet! Use Magnitude!" commanded Jerick. A small shiver went through the earth as Taillow took off. The ground around the four pokemon shook violently, especially under Electrike and Oddish.
Electrike was knocked off its feet, but Oddish countered and used Sleepinng Powder on Diglet.
"Diglet! Dig!"
"Taillow, Peck!"
"Electrike, get up!"
All three happened at once. The sleeping powder missed Diglet, Taillow struck Oddish, and Electrike gathered its footing. A second before Diglet burst out of the ground electrike leaped at Taillow.
"Darn!" exclaimed Cal and Jerick together. Taillow was knocked to the ground as Diglet missed and came up next to an angry Oddish. Oddish used Absorb on Diglet while Electrike used thunder shock on Taillow, almost beating it.
"Diglet help Taillow!"
"Oddish stop it," said Ben," by using Stun Spore!" True to its word, Diglet was stopped in its tracks by several tiny yellow spores, but even then a turn of events occured.
Taillow knocked Electrike off of it and used..."Arial Ace!" said Cal. Oddish was knocked out.
Ben put out a pokeball. "Oddish, good job, return."
"Come on Diglet," urged Jerick. "Come on..." It was too late Electrike finished off Taillow and ran toward Diglet, but just before contact Diglet was freed from Paralysis and used Dig. "YES!" A second later Electrike was knocked into the air from below. It was defeated.
Garis took out a pokeball and called it to return. "Good job, Elektrike."
'And the winner is...Cal and Jerick! You will go onto the next round."
Chapter 3: Round 2
The next battle was between Gabby and Michele versus Tyrone and Jake.
Cal and Jerick watched so they could see who they were up against. Less than a minute into the fight Gabby's Pichu was defeated by Jake's Vulpix. A minute later Michele's Lotad was defeated by Vulpix and Magnemite. Jake and Tyrone were good and they were going to fight them next.
Cal and Jerick didn't watch the third and fourth fights, but heard that Christy and Rebecca one the third and Balt and Michael won the fourth.
"Round 2!" announced Mr. Zelandod. "Ready...GO!"
"Diglet use Dig!"
"Vulpix use Ember on Taillow!" said Jake.
"Taillow, dodge!" Taillow swurved, but still got hit. "Taillow Arial Ace!"
Taillow dived swiflty into Vulpix. A second later Diglet came out right behind Vulpix. "Magnemite Tackle Diglet!" Before Diglet could attack Vulpix it was hit away. Just as Jerick started to say something Diglet used Magnitude. Vulpix was knocked into the air, but it didn't fall to the ground. Instead Magnemite caught it and put it quickly on the ground before getting hit from behind by Taillow.
Magnemite turned to face it. "Magnemite, Shock Wave!" commanded Tyrone. Luckily, a second before Magnemite could use Shock wave Diglet beat it.
Tyrone sadly called it back. "We're gonna lose," he moped.
"Vulpix use Tackle on Diglet," commanded Jake. Vulpix scored a critical hit.
"Diglet, Mud slap!" Vulpix dodged it and countered with Ember, defeating Diglet.
"Taillow, now!" Taillow shot down and used Arial Ace on Vulpix. Vulpix fell to the ground and didn't get back up. Jake called it back.
"The winners are Cal and Jerick! They will go on to the finals!" said Mr. Zelandod. "Next battle!" This time Cal and Jerick watched, carefully. Eventually Balt and Michael won with Aron and marril. "Are you ready Cal?"
"I hope so."
Chapter 4: Final Round
Balt and Michael stood at the other end of the battle field.
"Go, Aron!"
"Go, Marril!"
Cal and Jerick already had their pokemon out and ready.
"Let the battle BEGIN!"
Aron used Mud Slap right away while Marril used Water Gun.
"Diglet, watch out!"
It was too late, Diglet was hit by-neither? Taillow was hit by both (it was hit by the Mud Slap only becuase it was on the ground at the time) although the Mud Slap was hardly effective.
"Thanks Cal. Now Diglet, Magnitude!" Yet again the earth shook, but Aron still stood wobbly even after the attack.
"Marril, use Water Gun!"
A second later Diglet was struck by a jet of water. Taillow dived down and used Ariel Ace on Marril. "Marril, Dodge!" Marril tried to move out of the way, but the move was too fast. Marril went flying into Aron. As they struggled to get up, both at very low health, Diglet used dug under the ground. Two seconds later it came out from under Aron, knocking it out. "Marril, now is your chance, Water Gun!"
Diglet was defeated."Return!" called both Jerick and Balt. In two flashes of orange the two pokemon disapeared.
"It's all up to you Cal!"
"Okay, one more hit Taillow, Arial Ace!" Shouted Cal. Taillow dived down and...it HIT! Marril was out cold. "YEAH!"
"The winners are cal and Jerick, now you two follow me if you want your pokemon."
The pair eagerly followed Mr. Zelandod into the pokeroom, where they store all the pokeballs. After looking around for almost an hour at all tha pokemon Mr. Zelandod spoke up. "I just remembered, follow me." he walked over to a door, put in a key, tapped in a code on a key pad. The door opened. inside were two pokeballs. "Now if you can tell me what a shiny pokemon is you can each have one of these."
Immediately Jerick said,"A pokemon that is not normal colored like a green Whismur instead of a pink one."
"That is correct,' said the teacher. Now these two pokemon are Riolu-" that evolved into Jerick's favorite pokemon"- and Charmander."
"Jerick, you can have the Riolu, but i'll have the CharmanDER!" he picked up Charmander's pokeball and ran out excitedly. Jerick reached for Riolu's pokeball as Mr. Zelandod decided to speak-
"Your freind forgot forgot to get his pokedex, give him one of these.' He handed him a pokedex as He put the pokeball in his pocket.
That night was the graduation party!
Chapter 5: PARTY!
After they had lunch, a final lecture, and a long wait, they party started. It was almost seven in the afternoon. As Cal and Jerick arrived their faces instantly lit up at the sight of mountains of delicious food, video games, The pokemon simulator, battle fields of all kinds, and more! First though everyone had to go to the food tables and wait for Mr. Sayora to come and give the end of school speach.
Only a few seconds later Kiony, the class president came in leading Mr. Sayora. Cheers thundered through the room. "Settle down, settle down, I know everyone is excited, but it is time for my speech."
Whispers glided through the crowd, some like,"I hope it's fast" or "I heard his speech is very good!" or "FOoOoD..."
"Everyone, after your six years at trainer school tou all are probably sick of it, but the council and I had a meeting and we decided that trainer school should be seven years instead." There was silence for only a second before people started to argue, but before it lasted more than two seconds he started to speak again and it fell silent. "Of course, though, we don't have a council, and that meeting never happened, so everyone PARTY and enjoy your last night here!"
Jerick ran to the front of the line, grabbed a plate and started shoveling food onto it. Only ten seconds later his plate was 2x full when he sat down at a table and wolfed it down. Cal joined him on his seventh chicken wing. After they were done eating people spread out, some to talk, some to play games, but most went out to the battle fields to show off their new pokemon. That is what Cal and Jerick did. As they sent out their pokemon, people immediately ran over to see the pair of shinies. One of those was Kiony, who instead of gazing challenged Cal to a battle, he said,"You are lucky they are shinies, but are they strong?"
Cal and Jerick walked up to a rocky battle field. "Go get 'em Charmander!"
"Go, Eevee!"
The battle began with Balt as the referee.
"Eevee, use Tackle!" Eevee jumped forward at Charmander, who tried to dodge, but failed.
"Charmander, Ember!" Flames shot out of Charmander's mouth scorching Eevee who shook the attack off like it was nothing and followed through with Quick Attack. Charmander was hit into rock jutting out of the ground, but before it could get back up Eevee finished it with Quick Attack. "Darn, Charmander return!"
"Good job, Eevee, return." Kiony put the pokeball in his belt and walked away smiling.
The rest of the night went on great ecept for Cal's occasional moping. At midnight the party was ending and people started going to their rooms, packing their things (if they didn't already), and going to sleep.
The next day everyone left after a hearty breakfast. Not much out of the school grounds Cal and Jerick talked. Cal said,"So where are you going Jerick, I'm going to my house to relax for a while."
"I don't know, I don't have a house to go to, but I don't care, I want to start my journey now, said Jerick.
"Yeah, I know how you feel, after being in trainer school for so long I kind of want to start my journey, too, but I also miss my parents."
"So, I guess this means good bye, said Jerick.
"I guess so."
"Then I hope we meet up with eachother again in our journeys." and with that Jerick concealed his tears and left.
Chapter 6: the tunnel
As Jerick walked away on a seperate path from his best friend he saw the port to Herrandown island, where a gym was located, and his first goal. He also saw a boat getting ready to leave! Oh no, he thought. He broke into a run. I'll have to take a shortcut if I want to make it in time. He ran off the path and started running toward the woods, but just before he reached them the ground beneath him collapsed. His head hit a root, legs met rocks, he arms earned scrapes, as he tumbled down into the ground, after a few seconds he felt a sharp pain in his left leg. He tried to move it, but at that point he landed on hard earth.
As he looked up he saw a group of Aron huddled a few feet away. One of them looked.
"Ar-Aron!" The other Arons looked up and saw him.
"Go, Riolu!" There was a flash of orange as the cute black and yellow pokemon came out of its pokeball.
The Aron rushed forward at Riolu. "RiolUUU!"
Riolu jumped forward and used Quick Attack.
The lead Aron was knocked back into the others. The bowled over like bowling pins. At that point, though, a Geodude, a Nincada, a Lairon, a Mightyena, and a Houndour appeared in the cave by a tunnel. Oh no, thought Jerick.
He woke up starring into darkness. Oh no, where is Riolu? What happened, I don't even remember being knocked out? He tried to reach for his belt where he kept his Pokeballs, but his arm wouldn't move. He was strapped to the wall of a cave with vines. Just as he noticed this he heard something. It was a very slight sound. he strained his ears to listen. Suddenly a pair of red appeared an inch infront of his. He screamed.
Chapter 7: Darkness
Meanwhile about a twenty yards above two strangely dressed people were walking around carrying a strange device.
"I know it. It's somewhere around here," growled one of the two.
"Yeah, yeah, yeah. Woh! The scanner's radar just went off the charts! We must be really close." replied the other one.
