'Pokemon Direct' Livestream!

"Pokémon Confirm version confirmed!":rolleyes::p

That was it? o_O That was disappointing:(.

The XY was way more hype than this. It was just the titles which we already knew about several days ago, thanks to a leak that couldn't wait one more day before spilling the news? Guess not. Instead, we get another retrospective about all the games made and released over the years, a extended "see how people play Pokémon" and finally some information about transferring Pokémon from Red/Blue/Green to the newest versions, which of course, is Sun and Moon. That was Pokémon Day for you.

Atleast there's one thing clear - this is clearly Gen 7, and the tidbits I've seen seems to hint to a tropical region. I'm up for that.

Here's to waiting to CoroCoro and possibly E3 for a trailer.

Welp, Sun and Moon confirmed. Saw that one coming xD aka "Actual info to come".

At least it's hard for anyone to argue that it's not generation7 now. Just need a proper showcase of a connection to Zygarde or Kalos in general now, to confuse everyone even further ;)

I'm sticking to "it's a Johto/BW2-sequel hybrid for Kalos". No hints a germany-inspired though, so might be southern France as the neighbour-region after all.

(couldn't care less about genwun-glitches being transferable lol.)

Atleast the titles look amazingly cool. Dare I say the coolest and most futuristic looking of them all?

Oh yes they are. Best so far I agree. the heart and soul symbols from HGSS look like amateur-logo-design in comparison xD
Sleek, minimalistic/perfectionist and geometrically correct, that's my style :E

Another thing about the presentation: I liked that they did cover the whole franchise in the nice 20th anniversary presentation. Was getting tired of the GenI-focus we were getting recently, as if the anniversary was about genI rather than the whole franchise. So yay, pulling dat nostalgia 100% : D

Also, that's not Fletchling oOwoodpeck.PNG

I'm guessing its Water-type woodpecker....atleast from what I can get from its vague head shape being water drop-like. Counterpart to the competitive Talonflame perhaps?

Its also been confirmed that the codename "rainbow/Niji" pertained to Sun and Moon, which makes sense as rainbows are light phenomena and light comes from the sun, and is reflected off the moon as moonlight. I'm expecting a Water-type Legendary with Moon and a Fire-type Legendary with Sun, dual type if possible.

Water/Dark - Moon
Fire/Fairy - Sun

And yeah, Mitja, I'm with you. This is totally going to be a Gold/Silver type of gen, which I'm pretty fine with.

I'm glad I kept my hype down. Feel so much better when it exploded.

SuMo looks like it was Spain-inspired. Plus Masuda visited Spain recently. So there could be a Kalos connection much like France and Spain. They could even be enemies if this is a whole new region. That would be interesting. Also the bird wireframe reminds me too much of Fletchling to really accept it being a new Pokemon yet.

Wouldn't jump to Water based on its headshape, but yes, I see a woodpecker counterpart.
I wouldn't mind it being Dark/Flying (we've had Poochyena and Purrloin...and some meaner-looking birds, but not an actual Dark type early bird yet.)

you can see it colored in a few miliseconds later though, a dark coat and a white/red beak, none of them are true for Fletchling, as well as the shape of the head anyway... it's clear IMO.

Like Lugia, the sea monster that controls the coean currents and learns RainDance/HydroPump etc, is totally a Water type, right? ;D

They like to choose the types for legendaries in less in-your-face ways some times, is my point.

If it's a Lugia/Ho-oh like duo, it would be fitting if Moon was Water, but Sun got anything else BUT Fire, this time around xD

Lots of possibilities. Early to speculate.

At this point my guess is some kind of mirror to Xerneas/Yveltal. Like, this time the "cyan" moon-legendary is airborne, and the "orange" sun-legendary has a mammalian shape or such.

I wish it would mean some more regular evolutions THAT ARE NOT EEVEELUTIONS x.x

I only saw a blip of red and the shape reminded me of Fletchling. So while I personally dunno what to think yet, it could be a new bird. I wouldn't mind either way.

Don't you see the picture in my post above? O:

It also appears that vehicles are going to play a role as well. Perhaps our trainer character is going to have a motorcycle? That and I'm already hearing stuff about mobile Pokemon Center ambulances and the like.

Well, we all knew Sun/Moon was getting announced today, but the biggest bombshell in this Direct was that you can transfer your VC Pokemon over to it with Bank. I was hoping they might be able to do that, but I didn't know if it was possible. Really interested in how they swung that.

Anyway, I was expecting a little more about the actual game in this Direct, like how XY was revealed with a gameplay trailer, but I think they've shown off enough to tide us over for a while. At least now we're not completely in the dark about where the series is headed. What we can see of the game looks amazing though, the graphics seem to be even better than 6th gen's.
