Has anyone heard of a tournament where instead of a regular bracket style tournament of 8 players, where they get to use their own Pokemon, the players draft their Pokemon instead.
The pool to pick from are 60 random Pokemon with varying abilities, types, stats, and moves. There are 6 rounds in the draft, one for each of the 6 Pokemon. Players have to evaluate the type, abilities, stats, and moves and make their selection, then the next player in line selects from what is remaining. The draft order is serpentine, so the last guy who picks in round 1 picks first in round 2, with the order going backwards. In Round 3, the order goes forward, round 4 backwards, round 5 forwards, round 6 backwards. The 6 pokemon you draft would pretty much be your team for the tournament. In the end of the draft, assuming there are 8 players, 12 Pokemon would be left undrafted.
