Pokemon Estimated to Generate $1.5 Billion a Year [7/13]

Well that's great we can expect generation 7.
Wow, more money than Coca-cola and several car companies? That is impressive... I would love to vigorously enfor- ..gently shove this knowledge in the faces of genwunners.
I would also like to take this opportunity to say that I've been to TPCi in Washington, and it sure is a tiny office... Its located on the 20somethingth floor of an Expedia building for crying out loud, I had to pretty much guess the exact floor (more like I followed this old asain businessman and got off the elevator when he did, and go figure, it was the pokemon floor) But yeah, everyone I asked hardly knew about the place and it was hard to find. I was disappointed that there wasn't much to see either, just a few (rather nice) statues and wall art. This one guy did come out and gave me a souvenir snivy plush keychain from his desk though.
It's a little sad that for a business that earns more money than Coca-cola, the headquarters hardly gets any publicity. But then, it is just their American office building, people go there to work, so maybe that's just what they want.

Wow, that's pretty huge but I can't say I'm surprised. Nowadays I even want to say that Pokemon is Nintendo's most popular and successful franchise, up there with Mario. Also, that sure was a bold choice of picture to put in that news story, considering that one thing about the inflated Pikachu people love to point out...
This doesn't really surprise me, it's kind of neat to have that impression reinforced though. That tells me that as long as Pokemon continues to do this well, or even moderately well like this, that Pokemon will be aroound for a LONG time.

It will never make more money than The Coca Cola Company, it earned about $46.854 billion last year, a bit more than $1.5 billion.
I think this may have just been a hoax, or little research was put in. It would be really nice, if they did make more money, but they sadly don't.
TGI Fridays and Food Network are the only companies that they probably make more than. It's not really a reliable source.
