What Fire Red starter should I use?

I figured I could do a third generation playthrough but I'll be playing it on a Gameboy, not an emulator. I chose Fire Red because it seemed pike the greatest challenge. Now it's up to you guys to decide what starter I should use. This is going to be a total solo run but I may use HM slaves but I will consider a battle lost if I have to switch to them. So, Squirtle, Charmander, or Bulbasaur?
 
Charmander for sure. It's the hardest out of all of them.

Will you be like Joey and will give us updates on each section/region?
 
Yep I will do all of that, and keep track of experience but like him I will not be repeatedly checking for IVs. At the beginning I'll find the range, that's all. Please vote for Charmander in the poll if that's your pick!
 
I think it would make sense to find the range at lv. 10, then possibly keep track of IV's and record a precise calculation at lv.50 ish. JMHO
 
Well, I probably won't be using this Pokemon competitively so it's ok. I'll keep track up to level 10 though. It's not the most fun thing in the world, looking up EVs of wild Pokemon. Ok guys, let's get some votes!
 
im going to be off beat and pick bulbasaur and....im the only one to vote fore him.... i actually always solo run on all my pokemon games. then after the elite 4 i get all the guys that i want.
 
I'll leave the poll open for a couple days, but I'll start if there's an overwhelming majority, that's basically insurmountable. Keep voting!
 
Oh nice... Well, it is different from mine since it is not an emulator, so I won't get mad! :) I'll do Squirtle because I LOVE Water types, plus you can't do Jirachi. :(
 
I would do Charmander because he is hard to raise. If you were doing it the first red, like me. Charimander would be the best because of his late game pay off in terms of speed and crits compared to other starters.

Oh haha, nice, you are a verified seller now. That's pretty cool. Anyways, staying on topic, I'm not allowed to die during my run. If I lose my starter I'm going to restart the game (to last save).

Charmander, because he looks the coolest and is weak to the first two gyms.
 
I don't mind a good challenge, pick whatever you think will make for a good game. I might keep this poll open a bit more because Bulbasaur and Charmander are getting close.
