I don't think I've seen anything like this before on PokeBeach, so I figured that I'd try to introduce something new.

A Draft Playthrough for Pokemon is a playthrough where you, and many other members, sign up to partake in the playthrough, like you would for a tournament. Then the players take turns selecting Pokemon that will be a part of their team. The goal is to have the fastest time. Players are required to post updates on their progress, including the performance of their team. Finally, there are rules that accompany a draft playthrough, and you take a time penalty if these rules are broken.

I would do one for Black and White, but I doubt many people here have them. So, I decided that HGSS would be popular enough for a draft playthrough.

Here are the rules:
1. Only use Pokemon that you've drafted.
2. Only draft Pokemon in the version that you are playing.
3. Starters are free (meaning you don't need to draft them to use them)
4. Ho-oh, Lugia, Entei and Raikou are banned, meaning no one can draft them.
5. Play until credits roll after beating Lance.
6. Undrafted Pokemon may only use HMs.
7. If you break any of these rules, you will take a 30 minute penalty per infraction.

There are enough Pokemon for 10 players, and if there is enough interest in this, I can add more spots. Please PM me if you want to take part, or if you have any questions.
 
Everyone that signs up is assigned a random number, and, using a random number generator, the drafting order is determined. Each player selects one Pokemon in order, and once the end of the list is reached, the list is flipped around and the process is repeated. The process ends once each player has picked their six Pokemon.

For example, the drafting order in a 10 player draft would look like:
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-... and so on.
 
Oh, kinda similar to the draft tourny frm a while back! Sure, I'll play! I just need to get my bro's game from him when the time comes. Just a question: Is the Lake of Rage Gyarados able to be drafted?
 
OK, thanks! There's probably a rule against other players to use the same pokemon besides starters, isn't there? Just checking all details!

If I draft Magikarp, can i catch a gyarados? If I draft Gyarados, can I catch Magikarp?

So each EVOLUTION is in the draft? Or is it possible for 2 people do "Draft" the gyarados line?
 
Well, I got this officially organized with my bro, so I'll still play. You probably already figured that, but wanted to let you know for certain.
 
I would join, but I'm going to be really pre-occupied with Black. When will this take place?
 
Sure, I guess I'll play. But I refuse to delete my save file, so I'll play while my DS is plugged in.

@Joeypals, my guess would be the joy of crushing your enemies winning.
 
Would you guys still play if we did this for Black/White instead?

@Joey: Hypnotic Luxray was correct about the prize.

@Infernape: No. The only time trading can occur is to trade Pokemon that evolve by trading. Attaching items to the newly evolved Pokemon is also prohibited, and will result in a penalty.
