Ruling pokemon lvl x = evolution card?

sorry i haven't read the rule book yet for diamond and pearl because i didn't buy the theme deck yet but i just wanted to know in advance if a pokemon lvl x is consider an evolution card so that i can get it with my professor elm's training methood

Pokémon LV. X don't evolve from anything, therefore they can't be evolution cards. They're just Pokémon, not basics, not evolutions, just Pokémon. Professor Elm's Training Method can't snag a LV. X.

Like said above, Lvl. X Pokemon are not considered evolution cards since they do not evolve from any Pokemon. If you look on a Lvl. X card you'll notice that it doesn't say "Evolves from whoever". Since it's not an evolution card cards like Prof. Elm's Training method, Wally's Training and other cards which search for evolution cards cannot be used to get it from your deck. Celio can search for Lvl. Xs from what I am aware.
