Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: War of the Regions

PROLOGUE:
The small squad of Zangoose hopped over the gap between the mountains. One of Hoenn's elite squads, dubbed “Razor Sharp”, They were called to perform a recon mission to gain information on the opponent. As they quickly ran into enemy territory, they came into an enemy patrol. They hid in thick underbrush near a rocky outcropping, and waited. The Zangoose watched as the heavy patrol unit marched past them, with the artillery heavily armored. What they soon witnessed was an act of pure horror. The leader, a one-eyed Weavile, ordered the bombardment of a small innocent village. In the center of this village, was a well, with a strange green crystal at the bottom of it.

The weasel stood and watched as massive Rhyperior fired massive rocks and other projectiles at the village, erupting it in flames. Screams were heard, and pokemon ran out of the village on fire. Magmortar fired flaming projectiles at the village, and the Zangoose decided to abort their mission to protect the village. The 14 elite Zangoose ran out and attacked the artillery unit. Extremely well trained in fighting they took down pokemon after pokemon. The leader of the Zangoose, an older veteran of fighting, codenamed Vex, watched as this Weavile walked into the village, and went to the well. A less experienced Zangoose, the newest to the team ran to stop the Weavile, and engaged him in a fight. The Weavile easily killed the cat, and tossed him to the ground. A Zangoose named Z ran to the dead cat, and looked at him.

“My-my brother...” The Zangoose stood and ran at the Weavile. Vex watched as Z ran at the Weavile, only to be launched back by the Weavile's two clones. Z struggled to defeat them, before they dissipated, only for the real Weavile to kill Z. Vex watched motionless as his friend was killed. Vex killed the Rhyperior he had been fighting before he ran at the Weavile, only to be surrounded by the clones. Vex was a legend due to his god-like fighting skills, and he defeated both clones, before turning to the Weavile.

“You must stop! Sinnoh has already upset the balance of the regions, and this will cause a war beyond anything you can imagine! You must stop this or the end of the world may come!”

“Do not tell me of such pitiful weaknesses and fears you have. I was ordered to complete this mission, and I will not have a cat try to stop me!” The weasel ran at Vex, who was caught off guard. After being launched into the sky and slashed multiple times, Vex regained his step before launching his own assault on the Weavile. They battled viciously, but to no avail. Both were equally matched, but the Weavile had outsmarted Vex, and sent him flying through multiple buildings. Turning back to the crystal he looked into the sky. A pink and blue circle hung in the center of the clouds, and Vex saw these.

“O no....he has called upon time and space. Men! We must stop this Weavile at all costs! For if we do not, I am afraid the world will fall...” The other Zangoose charged to the village, defeating any and all of the enemy armed forces. The two colored circles in the cloud began to swirl together and merge, causing a bright flash. A beam slowly began to make its way to the crystal. The Weavile held the crystal in his hands, pointing it to the beam. Vex charged at him, knocking the crystal out of his hands. The Weavile had not expected the cat to rise so quickly. The Weavile lay weakened on the ground as Vex took the crystal and pointed it at the beam.

“The crystal must be shattered in order to preserve the peace! Draz, you are in charge now!” The shiny colored Zangoose shook his head before killing off another Magmortar.

“No Vex, we die together!” Vex slowly smiled before he pushed the crystal into his chest, shattering it. The beam has turned a dark red, and soon began to speed up as it rocketed towards the village. It struck Vex, before causing a massive explosion, The Weavile managed to get on his feet before watching as his plan failed. He began to run at Vex, before the entire village burst into a mighty explosion, killing all life anywhere near there, but preserving the balance of the regions. This small encounter was one of many in a great war that divided the regions, before ultimately tightening their bond. This war was of unimaginable conflict between the four regions of Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh. Some would ally with each other, forcing the others to unite as well. The worst thing this proved was that even the most innocent of creatures can be devastating. This war was fought long ago, before the dawn of man. This, was a war of the regions.

This doesn't really make sense; Weavile killing his own men? I'm guessing Weavile should be Zangoose or Magmortar should be Zangoose. There were other couple spelling/grammar mistakes, too, but they are not too important.

Other than that, I really liked the story. Although I'm really not sure what will happen because you said that this was only one battle like many others, so the Zangoose squad could or could not be the main characters. It's very interesting, although I think you used the word horror 3-4 times. Maybe try to use a different adjective to make the story look more appealing.

Great job, though, and I expect more great stuff. Also, great length for a Prologue. Keep up the good work! :]

hey thanks for catching that. The weavile should be Zangoose. And these are not main characters at all. I just focused on this elite squad somewhere in sinnoh cause i needed to push the story off somewhere. The main story comes from another character who is not related to these guys. They will be mentioned much later in the story, but not for awhile. And thanks for liking it!

Hey everyone! Chapter 1 is up, got bored so I decided to put it up earlier than before. Tell me what ya think. This one may be shorter, but whatever. I cant write big chapters ya no...

1~The desert flower starts to bloom!

He knew it was time, and he had been training for months just for this one test. He walked through the rocky path to some grass. He passed through the grass, and watched as it swayed in the breeze and he thought about it. He hated this part of the world. He loved the dry desert, and he shook his head before climbing a hill. When he reached the top, he looked down in awe. The city where he would join the army. He ran to the biggest building in the city, the Slateport Recruit Center, or S.R.C. As he entered the doors he noticed hundreds of Pokemon walking around. He went to the main reception counter. Behind it, was a shrewd Kirlia.

“He-Hello. I am here for the army recruiting thing.” The Kirlia pulled down her glasses and looked at him.

“You? Haha we don't serve kids. But if you insist, head down that hallway. O, and good luck.” The last comment she said was incredibly sarcastic, but Koji paid no mind. He had not come this far to be humiliated, and he would prove to everyone that he would be successful He walked into a large room, and more Pokemon were in it than outside.

“O boy, this will be fun. As if being an un-evolved Trapinch wasn't enough.” He walked and sat in a corner. There were many species of Pokemon, but a young Electrike ran up to him.

“Hi! I am Rai! Whats your name-”

“How convenient. An electric Pokemon named Rai.”

“Hey! I didn't ask for an insult! I asked for a name! I bet your not even that tough!”

“Excuse me? Would you like to prove it?” Koji stood and got in a fighting stance. The Electrike did the same.

“You bet I would!” The two creatures ran at each other, but Koji easily out skilled him. The dog was very weak it seemed, but had incredible willpower. The dog tried to hit Koji with a thunder shock, but Koji shrug it off. He slammed into the dog, causing him to surrender.

“Ok ok! Your tough, just please stop.” Koji stuck out his foot to help up the dog. At least he was nice about it. The dog took his help before licking his paw.

“Anyways mister, I didn't get your name.”

“Its Koji.”

“O! Cool name! Well, looks like its about to start! Cmon! We can get a good seat up front!” Koji followed Rai up to the front, where a curtain covered most of the stage. The curtain began to lift and Koji sat and waited. Two Pokemon walked out. One was a tall Blaziken, who looked old, yet knowledgeable, and an Exploud, who looked rather dumb. The Exploud walked to the front of the stage before yelling.

“ATTENTION! GENERAL BLAZIKEN IS ABOUT TO SPEAK! PLEASE LISTEN, AS HE IS YOUR SUPERIOR OFFICER IF YOU PASS!” Koji felt his ears pounding from that announcement. The Blaziken walked up to the front and began speaking in a quieter, more comforting voice.

“Attention cadets. You are part of the Hoenn military now! You are all aware of the current situation. Sinnoh and Johto have aligned themselves in hopes of destroying us, which has caused Hoenn and Kanto to form an alliance as well. We are spread thin on soldiers, so we are now recruiting more and more. Every day, Sinnoh and Johto grow larger. Kanto has been losing ground since the start of this war, and we have not done much better. You are all assigned to certain quarters for training which have been selected from your applications. Are there any questions before we begin?” A paw from a Delcatty shot up.

“Umm Mr. Blaziken sir, are all of the Sinnoh and Johto Pokemon bad?”

“Excellent question. No Pokemon is bad or good. Not all Sinnoh and Johto Pokemon are fighting against us. Some help us, some try to stay alive. That is the same for all the regions. Any others? No, well please proceed to the wall and find your quarters. Thank you.” A massive wave of Pokemon ran to the wall. Koji still sat where he was, waiting for the crowd to die down. Rai ran back to him.

“Koji guess what? We are in the same room together! Follow me!” Koji sighed and followed. They went through a massive maze of hallways and corridors before reaching their room. It was a double room, with a wall in the middle. It was nice, with two areas for beds and a small pond to drink from. Koji sat down in the left bed, and watched as Rai sat in his. The dog was very excited, and didn't seem like he had many Pokemon to share it with.

“So Koji, tell me about yourself!” Rai seemed eager to know about him, so Koji sat up and began to talk.

“Well Rai, I am from a small village near a desert, and have lived there my entire life with my parents. They are nice Pokemon I guess, and one day I was walking through town when I noticed a flier for the Pokemon army of Hoenn. I decided I should try for it, and I made it. I left all my friends and family back home, because they made fun of me for trying out. So I am here to prove them wrong.”

“O wow...I bet its going to be nice to go back and see them!”

“Yeah, sure. Whats your story.” Koji watched as Rai was silent for a long time. Finally, he spoke.

“Well, I guess I don't have a story. The military was just the last place to turn to.”

“What? What about your family, and your friends?” Rai looked at the ground.

“I-don't have any.” Koji felt a pang of sorrow. Had he known the dog had no one to turn to he would not have been so mean.

“O...Rai I'm sorry, if there is anything-”

“No its ok. I mean I have come this far, but I just have always wanted to know what its like to have a family. I was abandoned as a baby so I have no idea.” Koji pushed Rai's shoulder with his foot.

“Hey man! Cheer up! Training starts tomorrow!” Rai smiled weakly, and Koji tried to cheer him up. Rai curled up into a ball and fell asleep, while Koji was still just laying in his bed thinking.

“I feel so bad. Rai has no family, no friends, and I have been treating him terribly. Maybe he is so happy and nice to me because he wants to be friends. Well, I think its time I start trying to get to be his friend as well. I don't have any friends here, so I think Rai needs one, and so do I. After all, we are a team, so it will work.” Koji sighed again. Knowing tomorrow would be an important day, he closed his eyes. After all, tomorrow was the day he was going to prove himself. He had to be ready.

Although, you had a couple sentences in the beginning where the sentences were extremely short and it was kind of a pain reading through them. I didn't feel like a pause was necessary between each thing. Maybe try merging the sentences to make the description more captivating for the reader.

I liked the chapter, it starts things off nicely. Although, Rai's character is kind of off. I mean, he has no friends and family, yet he just seemed to get along really well with Koji? Also, they just started a battle out of nowhere and then Rai was happy and all, wouldn't he be somewhat hurt? I mean, a battle is a battle unless Rai gave up before he got extremely hurt, which could be the case in your story, but you didn't elaborate enough to tell us that (if that is the case).

To Lenny:
Well, I edited the sentence thing. Thought it work out for dramatic effect, but I guess not. Whatever lol. Also, i edited the small "battle". It wasnt much of one as Koji easily defeated Rai but whatever again. Also, Rai is so happy and friendly cause he is trying to make a friend, and he thinks that Koji could be a great friend. It will follow a path similar to the one that in the games, but the final party for Koji and Rai will consist of like 6 pokemon but yeah. Chapter 2 could be up tomorrow if its an uneventful day, but dont count on it. Chapter 2 could be a bigger chapter cause its training day, and something BIG will happen that you can look forward to! Lol...
To Forte:
Thanx! Glad ya like it!

I used an FF character name! Haha yeah, today we meet a new character and find out something that is going to be bad...hope you like it! This ones a little longer...

2~ Desperate Times call for Desperate Measures!

“Koji, its time, its time!” Rai happily yelled at Koji. He had been practicing his tackling and jumping against a sack of food, and seemed pretty confident.

“Mmmf, ok...you seem pretty excited.” Koji sleepily blinked his small eyes before walking to the small window. He saw the blue ocean, and something strange far off in the distance. Koji tried to focus and look at it to see if he could identify it, but a loud shout came from the Loudred patrolling the hall.

“ITS TIME TO GET UP! NOW!” Rai ran out of the room, but signaled for Koji to follow. Koji shook his head to try to regain balance from the scream and ran after Rai. As he ran he down the corridors, he noticed that many of the pokemon hear were not as happy as they seemed, but more nervous.

“Hmm, must be the training exam thats bugging them. O well.” Koji ran into a large room that had many different terrains and an obstacle course. Large open pipes were on the ceiling for the flying pokemon, and there were also many patches of sand for battling. Koji was surprised. He saw Rai swimming in the water.

“Rai, this place looks incredible!” Rai smiled before splashing Koji, knocking him off balance and into the water. Koji struggled to breathe for air, and when he reached the surface he still struggled.

“Rai you idiot! I am a ground typ-” Koji fell under the water again, but he felt himself loosing consciousness. Just as he felt as he was about to pass out, he was pushed back onto the surface. Rai had a sorry look on his face, and Koji struggled to get up. He was launched onto the ground, and he looked back into the water. A circle just hovered there. Koji looked closely to see it was a Wailmer. It poked its head above the surface.

“Well hiya! Gorsh, ya looked like you were gonna die. So I saved ya! Well bye now!” The whale submerged again and swam off. Koji looked angrily at Rai.

“Rai, don't you ever, EVER, do that again, hear me?” Rai nodded shyly, and climbed out. They walked over to a small desert like terrain, and Koji dug into the sand before sighing with content.

“See Rai, this is how I used to live. Isn't it nice?” Rai ran out of the desert and into the water again.

“Ew gross no its not! Its so hot! You cant do anything without getting melted!” Koji walked over to him before laughing. They were getting along very well, and soon after and Exploud walked in.

“ATTENTION! BLAZIKEN IS HERE! PLEASE SIT AND LISTEN!” Koji fell over again from the sound waves. He would hate this for the rest of his training days. The Blaziken walked in after Exploud. He was wearing lots of ribbons, which were metals he had obtained back before he became a general.

“Attention cadets! Welcome to your first, and let me mention most important, day of training. We have assigned you into groups of three. In every group, you will have at least one water pokemon. This is for the water part of the race obviously. Here on the wall is your groups, please check now. Water pokemon hold up your identification numbers please.” The rush of pokemon were at the wall in seconds, but Rai was already back. He walked along the water, until he found the pokemon. It was a Buizel. Rai walked up to it and began talking.

“Hi, I am Rai! This is Koji, and your our water partner!” The weasel looked at Rai before looking back at the water. He coldly replied back.

“What of it? Just cause we need to work together doesn't mean you should be getting any ideas.” The Buizel was very cruel, and Rai backed up. Koji walked over to the Buizel.

“Listen pal, that was uncalled for. So back off.” The Buizel got out of the water and towered over Koji. Koji started to back up, but realized he had to defend what he had just said. The Buizel bent over until they were eye level.

“What was that, ant boy?” Koji began incredibly angry at this comment. The Buizel turned around, and was about to jump in before Koji bit down on the Buizel's tail. He screamed incredibly loud gaining the attention of other pokemon around. He turned to face Koji again.

“Try that again, and I will kill you. Wanna swim?” With that, the Buizel kicked Koji into the water. Koji struggled for air as he was slowly sinking. Rai ran into the water to get him. Koji felt Rai pulling him up the surface, and he gasped for air.

“Ug...thanks Rai. This Buizel is going to be tough to work with.” As Koji climbed out, the Blaziken was standing in front of him. Koji shook himself before looking up and freezing.

“Uh-ummm-mister-mister Blaziken-sir uh-” Koji stammered and the Blaziken laughed.

“Haha, whats wrong? Got a little wet? Flash giving you trouble?” Koji and Rai both looked at each other.

“FLASH? THATS HIS NAME?” The Blaziken laughed again.

“Well be nice to him. His mother escaped Sinnoh with him, so just try taking another approach. Ok? Its hard enough for him to be picked on all the time, so just go with him.” Koji and Rai nodded before going back to the Buizel.

“Sorry we got off to a bad start. Lets try again. I am Rai, and this is Koji. And you are-”

“Flash. Names Flash. Not my real name, but I don't tell anyone that. No one yet anyway. Looks like we are on a team. I am one of the fastest pokemon here, so don't worry. We got this.” Rai nodded and smiled at Koji.

“See? Compassion and understanding goes a long way Koji.” Koji rolled his eyes before heading to the instructions. He read them aloud.

“This is a triathlon. In this race, you will have one water pokemon. This water pokemon will be the middle section of the race. The goal is for the first pokemon to pass the obstacle course, then the water pokemon to do the same, and the final pokemon to complete his/her own obstacle course. Good luck.” Koji told Rai and Flash of the rules. They decided Koji would start, and Rai would finish as he was faster. Koji headed to the start, and noticed he was next to a Bagon on one side, and a Lairon on the other.

“Aww crap...” The Exploud walked into the center. He held up both arms, and put them down after a second interval. When his second hand went down, he screamed.

“GO!” The pokemon rushed from the start, and Koji was none to slow. He was near the head of the pack, only to be behind the Lairon, and a Linoone. Koji figured he wouldn't catch the Linoone but he tried to outrun the Lairon. It tried to ram him, but Koji launched himself over the Lairon, throwing the Lairon off balance. Koji ran as fast as he could, and jumped through the first ring. There were many of these, and Koji jumped through all of them with ease. Next was a lone board with a pit of lava beneath, and Koji had to slow down to make it across. Soon he reached Flash.

“Flash go go!” The weasel nodded and took off. He was very fast, and Koji watched in amazement as he soared under walls and through rings. He was the first to reach Rai, with the Linoone's water pokemon, a Sharpedo. Flash barely outran the shark, before tricking it to hit a brick wall. Flash laughed silently before touching Rai's foot. Rai took off, leaving a small cloud of dust. For a while Rai seemed in the lead, but this was the longest stretch of the race, and a Manectric was gaining on Rai. Soon they were neck and neck, jumping through rings, dodging holes, and anything else that stood in there way. The Manectric slammed into Rai.

“Sorry kid, leave this race to the big kids.” Rai grew flustered by this comment, and small sparks of electricity began to cover him. Rai soon growled, then roared and started sprinting, the electricity boosting him by jolting off him. Rai slammed back into the Manectric, pushing him to the side but not completely out of the way. They were once again tied, and the finish line was on the horizon. They both ran as hard and fast as they could and ran through the finish line as if they were one dog. Panting, they looked at the judges.

“TIE!” Rai moaned as the other pokemon ran past him, and Koji and Flash soon joined him. They both complemented him.

“Good race Rai! So we tied for first, thats still great!” All three smiled. Flash seemed to be opening up more to Koji and Rai, so they invited him back to their room.

“Flash, we were wondering if you wanted to sleep here with us? We have a spare bed, and it will be lots of fun!” Flash pondered it before nodding.

“Sure, why not. Wailmer snores anyways. I am in!” All three cheered before heading back to the room. After setting up the fire they soon began to talk. Rai and Koji were both curious about how Flash was in Hoenn when he is a Sinnoh pokemon.

“Well, I guess that takes explaining to do. My mother was a very nice Floatzel, but my father was friends with Ifrit.”

“Ifrit?”

“Yeah, the head Infernape guy or whatever. You know. In any case, my father was friends with this Ifrit, and so my father soon became the lead general of the water forces of Sinnoh, and one of the main generals in the overall water force for that side. So he went mad with power, and my mother was scared. She fled in search of a better life for me, and found it here, on the peaceful shores of Hoenn. Of course it seems as if they are following us but what can you do?” The three chuckled, and Koji decided to get up and look out to see if the thing he saw was still out in the ocean. Koji stared at the ocean but noticed the same faint object.

“Hey Rai, Flash, come look at this.” They both looked, but could see nothing. Rai joked to Koji.

“Your just seeing things.”

“Yeah, guess so...”

--meanwhile--

“Sir, we have assembled the fleet. We are ready to move in at any time.” The monkey sat on his throne in the bridge.

“Good, good. Now, do we have confirmation that he is there, in that base?”

“Yes sir, it is confirmed. Why is it of importance?”

“Because, my dear servant. He is my greatest opponent. He is Hoenn's main hope to win this war, and if he is dead, then this war will be over far sooner than most think. Besides, we go back a long way, me and that damned bird.”

“Sir?”

“The Blaziken you -REMOVED-

“Of course sir. So when are you planning the attack?”

“All I will say is this. Within a few days, that city will be completely redecorated. Sinnoh style. So prepare the battleships and invasion force. All they have is recruits, and this will be an easy victory.”

Koji looked back at the object before sighing and going to bed.

“Good night guys!”

“Yeah, night. Tomorrow will be another tough day.” Rai, Koji and Flash all nodded in unison.

“You said it...”

It was good, I guess. I saw a little over a few grammar/spelling mistakes. Also, it is extremely cliche, no offense. I kind of guessed everything that was going to happen except the tie.

Also, please don't bug me with the PM's and stuff. I have a life. You sent me 2 PM's within 4 hours to read the story. I don't rummage these forums day and night. Just please chill it, I saw you had a new chapter even before you sent me the PM's, I just didn't have time to read it. Bugging people to read your story will only want them to NOT read it.

ok ok sorry lol...but yeah idk it usually is a cliche moment during the training bit. Thats just how it goes i guess lol, but the next chapter is on its way within a few days. This is one of the chapters that i disliked writing...and sorry again for bugging you...

It's not a bad story, but I think there's room for improvement. A good key to making sure you make a good work is to reread it and constantly think if you are satisfied with what you wrote.

Just another quick grammar pointer:

Koji stared at the ocean, but noticed the same faint object.
If the part after the conjunction cannot stand alone as a sentence, then the comma should not be used.

ok thanx Zyflair! I am not that experienced when it comes to writing. I usually have good ideas, but thats usually where they stay. I will edit it.

The next chapter is up! Its kinda a long one, but enjoy!

3~ One for a million?

“Mmmf, what happens today?” Koji asked while he slept. Rai and Flash were out of the room when Koji woke up. He decided to go to the window and looked out. The ship was far closer than he had thought. It was not clearly visible, and he looked hard and found the emblem of the ship. It was an island wrapped in flames, the emblem of Sinnoh. His heart sunk into his stomach, and he felt the blood rush from his face. He ran out of the room, to find no one there. He ran to the great assembly room and looked at the massive crowd. He ran into it to find Rai and Flash.

“Rai! Flash! Where are you!” He bumped into multiple pokemon before reaching the front of the crowd. Rai and Flash stood in front, with fear on their faces. “Rai! Flash! Your ok! Whats going on?” They both looked at Koji before Flash spoke up.

“Koji, Sinnoh is about to attack. This is all new recruits who have all just finished their basic training! And they expect us to fight them off! We are all going to die!” Koji soon felt their fear, and waited for the Blaziken to speak.

“Attention everyone! Please, remain calm. Now, I understand this is very scary, but think of this as your first real test. Now, we have some water pokemon that are experienced fighters, but the water pokemon must fight in water only. If we can keep the pokemon at bay we will be ok. We have even fewer air force, so the same drill goes to the flying pokemon. As for you on the ground, you will be in the heat of battle if the water and flying pokemon cant hold back the attackers until reinforcements arrive. We have very few experienced fighters, and while some of you may die, others will rise to fight with your bravery and courage! This is it soldiers! Prepare anything you will take with you, and return back here a.s.a.p!” The pokemon all nodded and retreated back to their dens. Rai was already in the deck, packing berries and healing items. Koji put a foot on the pack.

“No Rai. We cant prepare for this like a little adventure. Bring only what you can carry.” Rai looked at Koji with pure fear in his eyes.

“Koji I don't want to die. I-I don't-please lets run! We don't have to fight-please no.” Rai began to cry, and Koji patted him on the back.

“Rai, listen. Don't cry, just listen. When we first met, you were full of energy and courage. You challenged me without a second thought. You need to be strong here. You need to be brave, and fight with us!” Rai looked at Koji and smiled.

“Koji, your right! I have to be! For all those pokemon in Hoenn!” Rai's fear turned to determination as he grabbed two Oran berries and ran out. Flash walked over to Koji.

“Koji, you know as well as I do that Rai has no idea whats out there. Its going to be a slaughter out there, you sure this is the right path to take?” Koji nodded.

“Flash, he has an iron will. He needs to see that we are by him every step, so please play along.” Flash nodded before running back to the assembly hall. There, along the wall, were boxes with armor.

“Attention! All species have their own box, so please hurry and suit up!” Shouted the Exploud, as pokemon rushed to do so. Koji strapped an armor helmet on and armor for his feet. Rai had a similar design, but Flash had very little armor.

“Flash, going in with just shoulder pads and chest armor?” Flash nodded.

“Going to need speed here!” All of the armored pokemon lined up, and the Blaziken came out again.

“Now, as I have already explained myself, head outside to your stations! Good luck!” The pokemon all shouted before running outside to a fleet of ships. They were wooden ships, but armored with steel. Water ran down the sides to prevent fire damage, and pokemon were stationed as cannons all around the ship. The pokemon on land stood and watched as the water pokemon and flying pokemon engaged in a fierce battle. At first, the recruits were no match for the invaders, but when the Blaziken walked out onto the field covered in armor, a surge of morale went through every pokemon and they started to push back. Koji watched as a lone Floatzel from the front ship jumped into the water.

“Hey Rai, isn't that Flash's dad?!?” Rai looked before nodding. Flash was battling a weak Mantine, before looking to see the Floatzel swimming towards him. Flash soon became worried.

“Its my dad!” Flash turned and tried to swim away, but the Floatzel caught him. Flash struggled and kicked him in the face. Flash then hit him in the stomach with a sonic boom, and swam away. The Floatzel grew angry at this, and used his full power to catch up to Flash, before pounding him in the stomach with Thunder punch. Flash gasped for breath as he was launched out of the water. He flew onto the sand, where Koji and Rai ran to him.

“Flash! Are you ok?” As they ran the Floatzel propelled itself out of the water and slammed into Flash with another Thunder punch Flash screamed, and the force of the punch created an explosion. They Floatzel jumped back into the water. Koji and Rai were horrified when they reached Flash. He was covered in black marks, and looked to be in horrible pain.

“Flash! What can we do to help? Come on, lets get back to the base!” Koji put his body under one of Flash's arms, but Flash shook his head, before trying to stand.

“No Koji. I have to fight my father. There is no more running. I must put an end to this.” Flash stood, and took a berry from a small pouch he had. He at the berry, and took a small cloth band, and tied it around his head. He took another berry, and crushed it in his hands, before putting markings on his face. “Its time.” He ran and jumped into the water, and Koji and Rai cheered him on. Just as they began cheering, a boom was heard. The ships were almost completely empty now, with the attacking pokemon near the beach. Koji and Rai knew it was their turn to fight. They ran back to the bulk of the Hoenn forces, and held their breath. When the first pokemon reached the beach, the recruits charged at full force. As the battle roared, the Infernape watched from his ship. He found the pokemon he was looking for. He ran to the end of his ship before jumping off into the battle. The Blaziken noticed this, and ran at him. The two pokemon engaged in a deadly battle of fire, and neither showed weakness to the other. A massive amount of Drapion stormed the beach, and Rai and Koji ran and attacked one. It swing its arm and slapped Koji away, but Rai jumped onto its arm before biting with a Thunder fang. It yelled in pain before grabbing Rai and throwing him to the ground. Koji struggled to get up and watched as Rai was about to be blasted with a Hyper Beam.

“Rai no! Look ou-” As he screamed his body started to glow. He grew bigger, and soon wings sprouted from his back. He gained extra legs, and better vision. He lifted off the ground and flew at Rai. Just before the beam hit Rai, Koji scooped him up and put him back down on the ground.

“Koji! You evolved! All right!” Koji nodded. He flew into the air and fired a Dragon Pulse at the scorpion. It screeched, and tried to swing its arms to block the beam. Rai ran behind it and hit it with a Thunderbolt. It fell onto the ground, dead. Koji and Rai cheered for each other before a large blast of energy slammed into the ground near them, throwing them farther up the beach. Koji stood, and saw a large amount of Rhyperior running up the beach.

“Rai! We have to stop these things, lets go!” Koji started to lift off the ground before he turned to see Rai laying on the ground. “Rai, Rai! Get up! Please!” The dog struggled, but was unable to.

“Koji, I am hurt-” Koji grabbed him and flew him to a small medical outpost. He turned to go back to the battle. Flash was slowing stalling his father, but losing the fight. Koji tried to fly up to see better but was attacked by a speeding Staraptor. It swooped around before activating Brave bird and trying to hit Koji. He charged a Dragon pulse and fired it at the bird. It did nothing. It started to spin and smashed into Koji, knocking him towards the ground. When he landed, he created a small crater. He watched as Hoenn pokemon were falling all around him and he watched as the raiders marched farther and farther up the beach. The younger recruits started to run back into the base, and Koji tried to yell for them. The Blaziken and Infernape battled viciously near Koji, but he was to weak to move.

“No-guys-don't retreat-we have to-push them-” Koji closed his eyes. He soon felt a shadow above him, and he looked up. It was a massive Rhyperior, and it began to lift its foot. Koji closed his eyes again and hoped it would be swift and painless. The Rhyperior roared, before stopping. It stood there for a minute, before falling over. It had a hole in its chest, and it slouched to the ground. Flash walked above Koji.

“Nothing like a little piece of metal with a Water gun Let me take you to the medical tent.” Koji shook his head.

“No-we have to-fight-” Flash nodded. Koji finally stood, and looked around. He took a berry and ate it. He felt his energy returning. Flash looked around before seeing a bolt of ice rocket towards him. He was blasted away by it, landing a few feet from Koji. Koji turned to Flash, but a Floatzel jumped in his way.

“My son is done playing, let me take you home now!” It opened its mouth, and a light blue ball began to form. Koji flew at it, knocking it in the stomach with a Head butt It slid backwards, and fired the beam at Koji. He slouched onto the ground, his left wing frozen.

“I-cant fight anymore-” The Floatzel laughed. It began to glow black. It cloaked its arms in it, before it began to charge up a black ball. Koji struggled, but fell over. He looked the Floatzel in the eye and waited for the blast to hit.

“At least-I met a friend. Good bye Rai-and Flash.” He watched as the blast left the weasel's mouth. Koji closed his eyes tightly before waiting about a minute for it to hit. It never came. Koji slowly opened his eyes. Flash stood above him, motionless. Tiny whiffs of smoke left his body, and Koji suddenly noticed a hole in Flash's chest, identical to the one Flash put in the Rhyperior. Koji yelled for Flash to move.

“Flash! You cant-die! Please! Do something to show me you are ok!” Flash slouched onto his knees, before falling onto his belly. Koji felt a burning rage inside him.

“First Rai is hurt by you invaders. Now Flash is dead. I will do everything I can to stop you!” Most of the recruits were running to the base, but a few turned when they heard Koji screaming. Koji lifted off the ground and began to glow. “LEAVE THIS PLACE!! LEAVE MY HOME!” Koji unleashed a massive blast at the Floatzel, knocking him onto the ground. Soon, small meteors began to fall from the sky and surround Koji. The Floatzel soon had a worried look on his face.

“Thats-Draco Meter...” Koji screamed again before firing the meteors at the Floatzel. It scrambled to dodge them, and managed to dodge a few. The rest slammed into him, flinging him into the mast of one of the ships. Other Sinnoh pokemon turned to attack Koji. The Hoenn pokemon watching called for the other fleeing pokemon.

“Everyone! We cant give up! We must make a charge and push them back! We have lost to many! COME ON!!” The Hoenn pokemon all yelled before running in one massive charge towards the water. The Sinnoh pokemon were tired, and tried to stop the charge. Unable to do so, they soon fell in numbers. The general Blaziken smiled as the Sinnoh pokemon began to fall. The Infernape grew enraged at this, and unleashed a barrage of attacks on the bird. Blaziken blocked every one of them, except for a single Shadow punch It slammed into the Blaziken's stomach, launching him skyward. The Infernape jumped up and began attacking him with hundreds of punches and fire attacks. The Blaziken landed on the ground. He felt his energy draining from him, and he put the rest of his energy into a Blast burn The massive pillar of fire rocketed up from the ground and smashed into the Infernape, launching him into his own ship. The Infernape soon became unable to contain his fury, and activated his blaze. The Blaziken activated his own blaze, but was unable to stand. The Infernape jumped from boat to boat, to finish off the bird. Koji flew into the air as the Hoenn pokemon attacked the Sinnoh pokemon surrounding him, and flew over to the Blaziken. The Infernape landed in front of him.

"Listen! I wont let you hurt this Blaziken! He has taught me everything I know, and I consider him a friend!" The Infernape laughed, and punched Koji into the air with Mach punch. Koji felt the air rush out of him as he fell back onto the sand. He was unable to stand, and the Infernape picked him up and began knocking him higher and higher into the air with fire attacks. Koji felt his eyes close and open again, and he was unable to take the fire attacks again. He fell onto the ground, unconscious. The Blaziken was standing, and pushed back the Infernape into the water. The Infernape turned and jumped onto a ship.

"Attention all Sinnoh pokemon, retreat! NOW!" The Sinnoh pokemon ran back into the boats, and Infernape began to yell again.

"Celebrate this day, young recruits. For the next time, you and your leader will burn to the ground! The rage of Ifrit has just begun!" The ships began to turn, and Koji felt himself being shaken.

"Koji! Koji! Wake up!" Koji opened his eyes to see the Blaziken shaking him.

"Mmm-general-sir-"

"You saved my life back there, and for that, I owe you mine. We need to get to the medical tent, now!" The Blaziken picked him up and carried Koji to the tent. It was full, with one bed reserved for the general. A young Lombre walked up to the Blaziken.

"Blaziken sir, your bed is still reserved. Shall I take you to it?"

"No. Take this young Vibrava to it. He is in dire condition. That is a direct order, and you will do it or you will be fired. Thank you." The Lombre nodded before taking Koji. She set him onto the bed, and Koji opened his eyes.

"Am I, ok?" The Lombre was silent, and Koji felt his eyes close again. He opened them a few hours later to see Rai near him.

"Koji! Your awake! Thats great news!" The Blaziken soon walked up and smiled. Rai walked over to Koji.

"Hey, where is Flash?" Koji turned away. He felt a tear well up in his eye.

"He-he sacrificed his life to save mine." Rai turned away.

"O..." Rai soon ran out of the room, crying. The Blaziken walked up to Koji.

"Koji, you are one tough soldier. Is there anything I can do for you?" Koji nodded.

"Leave to comfort Rai. I need to think about some things." The general nodded. Koji turned to look at the ceiling.

"Flash let himself die to save me. I did the same for the general, but I lived. Why? Why couldn't Flash live? What makes me so special?" He soon felt dizzy, and fell asleep. He heard a voice in his dream.

"Koji...you must...stop this fight...in the cave of prophecy...a legend waits to be...revealed."

Did you ever think about using words like...the opposing side...squads.....teams...something that isnt like
"...the sinnoh pokemon..." then "the hoenn pokemon..."
or
"the huge mass of _____pokemon"?

yeah, but i keep forgetting to go back and edit it after i finish. I will edit that, thanks for catching it. What do you think of the chapter?

Besides the fact that Koji goes from weak slow and determined...to evolving know how to control his new dragon attacks and having to go back to reread about the whole floatzel sitch. I rly liked it lol reminded me of some DBZ battle between the two fire type generals. Cant wait for the rest to unfold. :p

Thanx! I spent alot of time on this chapter. I mean, I liked writing this chapter alot, and it is one of my favorite chapters. There is going to be another battle scene on its way, but this is a very different battle...and also, I think I am going to involve a legendary in this, like the one who controls it all...

i said trapinch in the first chapter lol...the kirlia talked to him, and he responded with something like this: Even though he was an unevolved Trapinch, etc. Thats what he said or something, idk what lol. Thanx for the comment!
