Ruling Pokemon Ranger Question

I know this really shouldn't be an issue, however the fact that so many players are attempting to create their own interpretation of the card is confusing others. In some instances almost confusing me, but I refuse to let it!

The way I read it makes the most sense, you play Pokémon Ranger and all effects from attacks are dropped. You then would have to reapply those effects either during your turn or on your opponents next turn.

At my league, there are too many players trying to incorporate abilities, status effects, and insisting that Pokémon Ranger lasts longer than just when played (end of turn, opponents next turn, etc.) I also have some folks trying to really dig in and say that it negates the card text on an attack such as Darkrai's Dark Pulse attack and you cannot add up the dark energy attached or Zoroark with multiplication of benched pokemon to attack.

I am not crazy right? All of this is false and really just applies to what I suggested initially, lasting or continuous effects are dropped, then you would have to reapply them.

Text on a card does not automatically make it an effect of an attack. Counting the number of darks for Dark Pulse or Benched Pokemon in the case of Mind Jack is a step in figuring out the attack's base damage and is not considered an effect of an attack.

Pokemon Ranger's window of effect is immediate. When used, it cleans each Pokemon and each player of all positive and negative changes done by attacks. They don't magically come back at the end of your turn. They are gone forever.

It also only affects attacks. You can use Ranger to clear the effects of Shadow Stitching, but not Garbotoxin, for example.
