Yes, Pokemon Heartgold and Soulsilver was a blast. But wait we can now battle Kyorge and Groudon and The regis and the Sky Master Rayquaza.

How do I know?

Because, Nintendo has sayed to Pokemon Sunday.

That we mostly likly is going to be a remake of Pokemon Saphire and Pokemon Ruby.

Who knowns maybe by then we will also have a 6th generation or we will be able to battle Zorua and Zorauk in the remakes.

Or is Nintendo just going to leave it?

Find out soon.

What? Why are you saying this? If it's unconfirmed, why post it unless you had theories, especially in Website Feedback? ALos, remaking R/S would be stupid because they were bad games, just saying.

I know, when they sayed it was Unconfirmed, I was thinking yeah maybe that isen't such a good idea, but some people will disagree.

I think they should make a new remake, BECAUSE it wasn't that great a game. they could make it so much better! besides, Emerald got me started on pokemon in the first place.

Honestly, if they made an R/S/E Remake with Black and White details... I think it would be awesome.

I'm not sure, as we can catch almost all of the R/S/E Legendaries and the Hoenn Starters in HGSS.

I really would like a remake though, as I think R/S/E had so much potential and with B/W style graphics they would totally pwn.

They still have to find a way to make these available within the 5th Gen, though...

...I'd like R/S remakes. Especially if they could finally let us know whether the thing on Brendan's head is his hair or a hat. *laughs*

It would be pretty cool if there would be remakes. I hope that soon the make it, but we won't be expecting it any time soon. We still have Black and White ahead of us.

The white thing is definitely a hat. Look closer at his head.
And am I the only one here who does not want and does not see the need for a Hoenn remake? You can just as easily Pal Park with Hoenn to get the Pokemon. How would a Gen V Hoenn remake get around that? Besides, GBA is hi-def enough as it is; I don't think that a DS version is needed.

It has already been stated that it's possible to trade from HG/SS to B/W. That's how they can be available.

...HG/SS aren't 5th Gen games.
In every generation, all Pokémon are made available through the games and events of that generation. It's bound to happen this time, too.

BLACK SIDEBURNISH THINGS PROVE NOTHING! NOR DOES THE REST OF HIS BLACK HAIR!
It's possible to have both black and white hair, you know.

...
Black... and white...?
(DUNDUNDAAAAH?)

Since when do children have white hair? (Just saying.) His anime counterpart, Ruby, also has black hair, as this picture demonstrates. Manga counterparts, appearance-wise, look identical to in-game protagonists.

now on with the topic

I hope they don't make remakes of R/S. It really was quite a pathetic game, and the only reason I haven't sold it is it's the only way (other than the Toys-R-Us Regigigas) to get the Regi's. The region is downright dumb, with all the islands. The gym battles were easy, the Elite 4 also pretty easy except for Drake.
Also, you could catch all the Hoenn legendaries but the Regi's in HG/SS (and Deoxys which you can only get by Wi-Fi), so I doubt they'll let you catch Latios, Latias, Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza again so quickly.

I personally didn't mind RSE...in fact, I actually like it better than DP. (Though I wouldn't put it over Platinum and HGSS)

In reality, why wouldn't they remake it? Game Freak knows they can make millions of dollars off of any Pokemon RPG they make. Not a single pair of games has even drifted below 10 million worldwide iirc. (Obviously excluding HGSS as its brand new) (I think DP is currently around 17 or 18 Million, while RB exceeded 20) Most third versions can at least see 4-5 Million. Also, it isn't "too early" for RSE remakes. On November 21st of this year, it will have been 8 years since they came out. The only reason I see it as too early is because the Generation V is just about to come, and the Pokemon Company will want to market and hype up for the 5th generation for at least a year before "reviving" the third generation. I think it is a definite possibility that they will be remade in the next few years.

Even kids who were 5 years old when RSE were out are now 11/12/13, the upper edge of the main age demographic. Within a few years, most of the kids playing Pokemon will not have been alive or in diapers when RS came out. Go up to anyone under age 12 (who doesn't have older siblings) and they'll say that HGSS were brand new Pokemon games. The very same thing will happen if RS remakes are remade in 2-3 years. They won't care how "old" or "bad" RS were: it's a brand new experience for them.

With these factors combined, I would be a bit surprised if RS didn't get a remake. After all, if you had a chance to make a game that would sell millions no matter what, wouldn't you take the chance? And I think much of the RS hate comes from the fact that older Pokemon weren't available until FRLG.

Fourth generation and Fifth generation games were confirmed to be compatible a couple months ago. The add ins of Hoenn starters and Legends in HGSS is a legit argument against RS remakes. However, you could still get most Johto Pokemon in some way in D/P. (Mostly through Pal Park), yet HGSS were remade. And again, consider the $$$ factor.

You could do the same for Johto Pokemon, yet GF still remade Gold and Silver. Also, do keep in mind the DS Successor is coming within the next 9 months. I could very easily see it utilizing 3DS graphics, and GBA games look even a bit obsolete with even a comparison to Gen 4 graphics. (I won't say DS here because BW has already shown that DS graphics can be stretched even further)

Bottom line: Am I saying RS remakes will be coming very shortly? No. However, I don't see any reason why they wouldn't remake them in a couple years down the line, later on in Generation 5.

I honestly don't understand how on earth the 3rd gen could receive so much fanhate ;o

In my opinion, they were the best games in the main series (nostalgia bias speaking of course, though this is not to say that I never played the first two gens as a child; in fact I played both, and 1st is almost as nostalgic as 3rd to me). At the very least, they had the best and most creative music. Nearly the entire game's music was designed with a distinct Latin flair that really brought Hoenn to life.

Not to mention 3rd gen was (arguably) the prettiest generation. D/P's snazzy 3D graphics were nice, but the color scheme made Sinnoh feel pale and washed out in comparison to the rich, lush, vibrant environments of Hoenn.

Also, I enjoyed all the ocean travel. Sure, Tentacool are annoying, but so much to do on the ocean was a completely new thing; in past gens (and 4th gen), water was pointless and served only as different paths with trainers strewn about to suck your time away. I think all the ocean really helped add to the games' overall feeling very well.

The Latin style of music, the colorful and rich environments, and the ancient and mysterious nature of the legendaries (Regi's specifically) all combined to create an ancient-feeling, adventure-like atmosphere into Hoenn, which is the main reason I love the 3rd gen so much ;D

It wouldn't surprise me if we get Ruby/Sapphire remakes. The precedence fits. I wouldn't necessarily say we NEED them unless they did some 'story' changes like they did with FRLG/HGSS.

And admittedly, if/when that happens, I don't see anything in my future that would prevent me from getting those remakes and playing them.

And, personally I don't see why anyone has problems with 3rd gen.

I'm not saying that I'm against the idea of R/S remakes (well, I am and I'm not); I just think that at the current time they would be unnecessary.
If they made R/S remakes on a DS successor system in Generation V, though...it'd be interesting to see how they turn out. I positively loved Emerald (not so much Ruby/Sapphire), and the music in the Gen III games is just to die for. Yeah, I'm a sucker for GBA games.

Plus, they included some of my favorite Pokemon - Deoxys, Kyogre, and the Regis. Call me unimaginative, but ni to you then. I like them.

Might as well say "Black and White remakes unconfirmed!"
