Pokemon TCGO Worlds :)

Storminn

Cities format is going to be wacked.

This sounds like the worlds most wackiest idea ever. But it is possible. Even though there are no spectating options and such you could make tournaments such as Battle Roads and such and calculate points and such in the end it might work but you would need a lot of Co Workers and such :)

Have someone behind them helping them.

.... Never thought of that. I see maybe you could let that slide thought idk anymore more thoughts.

If they did a TCGO Worlds, they would give out online trophy cards XP

And online booster packs and virtual scholarships lol...still, it would be interesting if they tried it.

New idea: Scrap PTCGO entirely and use the extra money to up the prize support in the real card game. problem solved.

There are also those occasional card glitches that could help someone cheat, or accidentally cheat too.

I can imagine it at least...well, mostly.

^So much this.

This idea can work. They do it for Magic the Gathering using MTGO.

Magic has the MOCS - Magic Online Championship. To qualify, you need to earn enough points and if you make it, you get an invite to worlds to play it out at the event.

It doesn't stop cheating from happening, but MTGO has in the code of conduct that you agree to when you start using it, that only you can use your account. This has actually been policed in the past, very recently, when a player qualified for the MOCS, but was found to be playing on an account owned by his friend. I can't remember if the invite passed down of if the owner of the account got it...

Then once your at worlds, you play on rigs supplied by WoTC and have a judge present to ensure that everything is above board.

I don't know about you guys, but when ever I play a game and have someone trying to help behind me, my game goes to hell. What they see and what I have planned often conflict and that can cause me to loose sight of my original plan and make mistakes or poor choices...

But I agree with Flint, this idea, whilst it has merit, can not be and should not be implemented until PTCGO is stable and the card bugs ironed out.

Pope.

This so much, I feel that some events are under prized, namely, Nationals, people's efforts in top 16 should be recognized a lot more, the amount of boosters is stupid.

I love you. So much. seriously. You are my new favorite person.

I would love to discuss this more but since I no longer mod I can't just say what I want and not get a warning. :\

One way we could prevent cheating would be to force players to use a webcam when they're playing. I dunno how it would work, and hypothertically someone could be out of view of the cam, but it's something.

TBH, forcing players to play with a webcam would just be creepy. :/

Works great if you have a healthy league near you, but consider all the places around the world where this isn't in place. Some people only get to play the game because of the online TCG. It's a great addition, and I think it's quite one-eyed for people who want it to be scrapped, to be honest.

Prize support=leagues
With leagues come tournaments,
With tournaments comes players
With players come more money.
With more money comes higher quality cards(hopefully)

I don't think they'll ever make the cards better quality, to be honest.

Online TCG = greater accessibility = more players = more customer etc. etc.

Simply upping the prizes isn't going to introduce more players to the game.
