BW/BW2 Pokemon Transfer

I unlocked the transfer option, but when I turn on Platinum and try to activate the transfer option on Black it doesn't read it. Do I need the national dex in order to do this? If not can someone explain to me what needs to be done so I can hopefully figure out what I'm doing wrong.
 
I think you would need to obtain the National Dex first after defeating the Elite Four in Unova in order to use the Pokemon Transfer which does require 2 Nintendo DS's for it to work.
 
Yeah get the National Dex,and then do DS Download Play on another DS.I'm not really sure how this works,but do DS Download Play.
 
^You are correct. DS Download Play on the DS with Platinum. Don't start the game itself. If you are talking about the new "Pal Park", then it shouldn't matter if you have the Nat. Dex or not, as you get right after you beat the game, and can't progress with out it. If you want to transfer the beasts and Celebi, then it should work fine without the Nat. Dex.
 
Don't you have to beat the game to be able to transfer?I haven't beaten the game yet,so I I don't know a lot about it...
 
Yes, because it is past Black City/ White [INSERT WHATEVER IT IS], where you catch pokemon from other regions.
 
The Transfer station (or whatever it's called) is located to the left of Nimbasa, in the area that's blocked off until post-game. Once your there talk to the guy at the desk and you'll be able to start the transfer. Here you start Download Play with your D/P/Pt/HG/SS game and then select your pokemon. This won't work if you have less than six viable pokemon, (as in pokemon without HMs.) Items attached to said pokemon won't be transferred (I think they're sent to the bag of the forth gen game) The transfer game will start, catch them, rinse and repeat until you've transfered all of the pokemon you wanted.

EDIT: The forth gen title doesn't have to be beaten as far as I know.
