So, here is my cities report that I went in today. I was running Durant. I woke up at 7:15 and sleeved, tested, etc, etc, my deck. After some stressful last minute things to finish my deck, I left at 9:25. I arrived and waited anxiously. Finally, round 1 began.
Round 1 vs. Lorelia(sorry spelled wrong) D. w/ rogue
So, this round wasn't too hard. She was running a rogue with Eelektrik, Blastoise, and Zekrom. It was going very good until she got Zekrom out. She bolt striked, koing my Durant. However, I was able to easily crushing hammer her energy and catcher stall. I believe she took 2 prizes. Regardless, she was a nice and friendly player.

Round 2 vs. ??? w/ Reshiphlosion
Reshiphlosion. 'Nuf said. All he needed to do was get Typhlosion out and it's game.

Round 3 vs. ??? w/ Reshiphlosion
*Facepalm* Out of all the Seniors, I get paired against all of the Reshiphlosions. It was actually fairly close. He had 3 cards left in his deck when he took his final prize.

I was pretty crushed, getting 6th out of 7th. 1-2 is not good at all, but it wasn't really in my control. Reshiphlosion is just too hard to deal with and my opponents knew they needed to get out Typhlosion and sweep.

-vareki for offering to test my other deck and just helping my deck
-Dark Void for helping me do some last minute testing
-Trading to up my total catchers to 6

Slops:
-My friend for leaving without lending my eviolite
-Missing out on prizes
-Reshiphlosion
-Placing 6th out of 7th

So there's my cities report. If you read the whole thing, yay.
 
It seems like you would need Rescue Energy and more Eviolite, but good try. I hate it when I get bad luck in tournaments.
 
Ouch. That's too bad, you might want to reconsider your deck choice with your meta.
 
Yea, I tried to get the eviolites, but I couldn't :( I figured Reshiphlosion was a dead deck, but I didn't realize I would face two of them. This was in SoCal btw.

Most of my Cities have about nine Seniors. Maryland/Virginia is one of the best areas in the country to be playing in Seniors. I got so spoiled by those top eights at States and Regionals lol.
 
Lol @ MD/VA being best Seniors. Ohio is where its at, 7 rounds T16 regs. Consistent 5 rounds T4 CCs, etc.
 
^Florida had more than nine too. FL isn't even known for its Seniors save the Arenas brothers.

Anyway, pokemonjoe, your problem was deck choice (Durant will be good next set) and list. Stalling is key. Consitency is too, but 3 Pokegear? You're also focusing on techs against cards that probably won't be played.
 
Reshiphlosion strikes again, burning the poor defenseless ants...

You'll notice I said one of the best. In Colorado, we had no cut at some BRs, Top 2 at all Cities, and top 4 at States. That's a little worse than average, but Top 8 at States/regs is above average.

Durant is a great deck now, too. In a format that revolves around Eelzone and subsequently Chanelure, Durant has a lot of potential. I run 3 Pokegear in all of my basic/Stage 1 decks. I think getting paired against his worst matchup two out of three rounds was what ruined his record. Although I don't like the heavy Twins count or the Lithograph. I'd rather see Black Belt, N, and Rainbow Energy.

The Ditto was genius, btw. I'll have to test that out. Since Victini is generally only used in Vileplume decks, that's actually a really interesting counter. You have just enough Pokémon to run it, too. I just hate the idea of starting with it.
 
Thanks for replying and the compliments guys! :) it was kindof funny, I was going off Internet meta, but I forgot the seniors in my area are a little behind the meta curve; I saw no magnezones or chandelure. Btw thanks celebi, I was worried about victini, so I threw ditto in there. As for n, I just completely forgot about it. Same with rainbow, although they're in there now
