BW/BW2 Possible Nerf to Gyarados?

Apparently, to transfer Pokemon over, they can't know HM moves (similar to Pal Park). And with Waterfall not being an HM in BW, Gyarados can't use waterfall unless its Level-Up moves change.

What do you think? Is Gyarados' reign of terror over due to the returning lack of physical STAB?
 
It really does suck :/ All is well that ends well, imo.

Although, Aqua Tail is a level up move... The only problem with that is 90% accuracy, 10 PP. It does do more damage, which is nice.

I love waterfall. Always use it on a more attack orietented water type. I want waterfall as a tm (we all use it much more then rocksmash and its there).
Gyradaos with aquajet=deadly as anything
 
I do not think Gyarados usage will drop because of that. Aqua Tail makes up for it. The real reason for its nerf will be the 100 new offensive threats.
 
Where did you get the idea that Waterfall is not an HM?

There's no way Gyarados CAN'T have waterfall. If waterfall is not an HM, then you can't teach Gyarados Waterfall, but that means you CAN transfer it over because it's not an HM. If waterfall is an HM, you can't transfer it over, but you can teach Gyarados Waterfall because it's an HM.
I don't see how you could have concocted this idea in the first place.
 
^, nope. In RSE, when you wanted to transfer Pokemon over to DPP, all HM moves in the RSE games had to be deleted, whether or not they were a HM in DPP, like Dive.
 
Rock smash is a tm now, so why not waterfall?
That ruins a lot of movesets. If a pokemon is better as a phsical move user, people use waterfall. Its strong and dependable and we only have 6 hms. Are there any more?
 
Even if Waterfall wasn't an HM, Swimming Goggles + Aqua Tail would be a popular combo anyway, so it's irrelevant.
 
who said that waterfall is no longer a HM? and if its not then its probably a move tutor move, like dive was in platinum

But gyrados had a decent run.He was highly overrated though in my own opinion.
 
I'm talking about during its time (which may end), which it WASN'T overrated in. Just ask anyone who ever used it.

During its time it was not most likely because of waterfall simplified as special.....Foolish thinking back then.
 
You DO realize that it's not an HM. It could return as a TM, like flash.
Sorry if someone else already posed that, I'm too lazy to read the whole thing... :p
 
Yet gyrados gets earthquake spiral as its dream world ability.. He can own with that so that will make up for the u turning.
