Deck Summary:
So I wanted to build a deck that I felt would best utilize Salazzle GX since it one GX Pokemon that I don't think people will play a lot of. I've seen a lot of different Salazzle builds, from using promo Lurantis, to using other fire types like Volcanion. But I wanted to think outside the box. I really wanted to combine Salazzle GX with baby Salazzle and have my deck work around it. With baby Salazzle, when it evolves, the hot poison will cause both burn and poison (30 damage per each turn if the burn stays), so my first thought was Seviper's More Poison to add an extra damage counter to poison effects each turn. With Salazzle's Heat Blast that's 110, choice band makes it 140, Hot Poison makes it 170, and with 1 Seviper on my bench with More Poison, it's 180. That's enough to 1 hit KO Pokemon like Drampa GX, and both Darkrai EX and GX. With weakness, it's strong enough to 1 hit KO Metagross, Solgaleo, and Decidueye. I added Po Town and Rainbow Energy mainly for baby Salazzle to add damage counters to it so I can use Acerola to return it to the hand and evolve next turn again, but it also helps build damage to my opponent's Pokemon as well to 1 hit KO stage 1 GX Pokemon with 210 HP. I may take out the two nest balls for a full Po Town/Acerola but I'm not sure yet. LMK what you guys think of that? If you want to try other Stadiums instead of Po Town, you can use Altar of the Sunne which takes away Salazzle's water weakness in case you fight decks like Greninja, Alolan Ninetails, or Kingdra. You can use Scorched Earth for draw support since Salazzle GX only needs two fire energy. The rest of the cards in the deck are pretty standard.
So this is my Salazzle GX deck, let me know what you guys think, and of course, any tips or advice are always welcomed. Feel free to test the deck out yourself if you wish to. Also LMK if you think I should get rid of the nest balls for a full set of both Po Town and Acerola.
