Ruling Power Spray + Electrode Prime

I'm going to answer based off the assumption that the below text accurately depicts how the POWER is meant to be played:

"Poke-Power: Energy-Energy Dynamite
You can use this power once during your turn, if you use it, this Pokemon is Knocked Out. Look at 7 cards from the top of your deck, choose any number of Energy from among those cards, and attach it to your Pokemon in any way you like. Discard the remaining cards. This power can’t be used if this Pokemon is affected by a Special Condition."

Provided this is the case, then yes - I believe Electrode should be knocked out even if the POWER is sprayed. It would play out the same way as it does in the scenario where Electivire FB's "Energy Recycle" POWER gets sprayed; the player's turn still ends. The POWER still counts as being used, even if the effect of the POWER is blocked.

There is no official answer yet as an FAQ for the set hasn't been released. My opinion is that Electrode won't be Knocked Out, because of how Sacrifice (Regigigas LV.X) works when Power Sprayed - the Pokemon on your own side doesn't get Knocked Out. That, and the way that the older Electrode are worded (they don't say 'you may use this power; if you do then ________; they say 'you may Knock Out Electrode/Electrode ex and do ___________') leads me to believe this.

When the FAQ for the set comes out, we'll have a real answer.

I disagree. Regigigas' POWER sacrifices a Pokémon as part of the POWER's effect, which would be blocked by Power Spray. The text for Electrode's POWER as it's been posted above mirrors the text of Electivire FB LV. X's POWER, such as if you declare you're using the POWER, your turn ends (in Electrode's case, he gets knocked out). As has been ruled with E-Vire's POWER, the turn still ends even if it gets sprayed. Given the similarity in POWER text, I'd wager the same would apply for Electrode's POWER, even if it gets sprayed.

In any case, as you stated, an official ruling will eventually resolve this.

I am going to agree with banuffin on this only because how electrode prime is worded and since it is worded like electrivire fb x and sw blastoise and waterlog. but yeah once faq comes out we will all know the truth.

Preliminary review of the power in Japanese, is worded almost like Blastoise from SW. So most likely a Sprayed Electrode would result in a knock out.
